I would conclude the sound of this song as symphonic metal but with neoclassical metal influence predominately, as well as occasional bursts of other distant genre components most 21st century bands are somewhat hard to categorise into genres... Wouldn't say this is my favourite track by Adagio but I do believe they are skilled and destined to be a great band as they have a fantastic and slightly different sound and I think they are kings already and should be hailed!

u got me there. But i think that although some musicians say they have been influenced by this or that, it is not really explicit in their work. (i mean, i do see they are using those gutural vocals now, but that's about all the influence of black i see)

A couple of their songs are very black influenced. If you listen to them. Most of adagios songs are dark in nature anyway. And adding the guttural vocals shows influence from the black/extreme genre. And im pretty sure this isn't just the song with said influences

Adagio's Underworld is a masterpiece. Every song, composition, arrangement and musical intepretation are crafted at perfection. Kudos to Stephan Forte (guitars), Kevin Codfert (keyboards), Dirk Bruinenberg (drums) and you, Franck Hermanny. One of the best ever!

It's not copied, it's similar. I hate how people don't realize that Dream Theater themselves are a rip-off band. The only thing they brought into metal was music-school education. They copy from other musicians, even in Glass Prison. The only reason Dream Theater sounds different is because they combined EVERY kind of music. Dream Theater is good, but they're just another band, not gods. Take Raphael, considered the Renaissance Man in his time, though he stole from Leonardo and Michelangelo.
