  • True music like Elbow, or Bucket head gets the least attention, whilst untalented crap like Lil' Wayne gets all the hype.

I know, it's such an ironic twist.

  • Is this band bristish or something? They sound different...

  • lol yh start is hilarious but the song is awsome

  • Not as good as the Barbara Dickson version !

  • From the video, it seems the lead singer would rather go on a solo carreer...

  • Poor Guy.

  • I used to watch this video on mtv, when it didin't suck that bad, fuck mtv, hail elbow!

  • I am blown away by this band....Great Tunes Guys!

I have been watching their videos here on youtube for the last hour and have loved every single one. The great thing is that every one of them is totaly different and original from eachother. These guys have serious musical talent. They have that unspoken of deal that so many of the greats signed on the dotted line for. Very few ever get that opportunity to sign the unspoken line.most readers will not have a clue as to what I am speaking of.

  • the beginning cracks me up every single time

  • My favorite song on 9 Songs

  • Look out! Guy is gonna come and get you while you're asleep! ...how evil :P

  • the more i hear from these gus the more i like them, but Ground for Divorce is still King in my book!

im really glad i saw that Left 4 Dead commercial XD

  • same here :)

  • hehe the look he gives the pianist , and then the drummer and pianist are both like "aww man not again" Fantastic!

  • Guy is sinisterly delicious in this.

  • Comment removed

  • The guitarist didn't disappear. Guy did; he was off climbing into the bulldozer. He reappeared when he was done with his murder fantasy and starting another one.

  • Oh! Woops. This is very bad for a person with glasses! Thanks for pointing that out :)

  • I don't tink you know what you're talking about

  • aha! i love it :) Guy looks well sinister!

  • long time since i lost this CD

  • ha that video was funny. I'm recently just into elbow but I love them already! There music has kind of a soothing sound to it. Can't believe I didn't notice them before now.

  • how long have thes guys been genius? how come I didnt notice them before?

its like falling in love with a girl you never noticed!

  • this is good

  • great song but i dont get the video why is he killing all his band members

  • wanting to, or envisioning killing everyone else. I guess the whole 'fallen angel' theme.

  • what album is that from is it asleep in the black ? ah bugger it I will buy them all anyway...my elbow collection is painfully thin .Leaders of the free world is a choice album though!! love it love it loveit

  • Cast of Thousands, I think.

  • yep

    its definitely the second album

  • great video- great song

  • this video is class, makes me laugh and wobble in a ryhtmic way! all the things i love in one go, lol!

  • Crabman!

  • Bleedin brilliant.

This is about as festive as my listening gets this time of year too.

  • is it fk their from bury

  • Hey funkymonk929, do your homework, the bassist's name is Pete Turner not Eddie Steeples - The actor from "My Name Is Earl"

  • bassist=crabman from my name is earl

    fact

  • i thought he looked familiar..

  • Guy Garvey, outnight sucess after 18 years hard work

  • Can't beleive I've only just found this band - the most heart rending music!

  • they are the most underated band in the world. and by far one of the best.

  • ArseBags..so glad you found them...where were they hidding? He he...I love this band and so excited as bought tickets to see them in March 2009 yay!!!

  • Sam Brown is the same guy who did the Pretender video for Foo Fighters

  • An amazing video, really innovative concept.

Especcialy love the part where Guy speeds off on a moped and drops an amp on Pete.

  • My housemates came to my room to see what the hell i was laughing so loud about.

The saw in the floor also made me laugh a lot

  • Such a great video. I love the bees attacking the drummer's head.

    And then the piano.

  • i heard it is meant to represent a common problem for drummers:

when and angry onslaught of bee's attack unsuspectingly whilst drumming to elbow.

  • Heh, indeed it is a new epidemic.

  • Good for you?

  • uhh...lol

  • why they really helped out earlier in history and they really rnt doing anything to hate them for right now...and im not american either im canadian

  • you are takeing the piss so i wont write back to that. well actually, they are the cause for everything shit i n the world. well most of it. fucking pikey wankers

  • Ahahaha, I love how the video starts. He just pops up off the ground.

  • `111111111111

  • this tune was the first that got me into Elbow..and i'm so glad i found em..this track is the tip o the iceberg...my fav band at the mo and one of the best bands in a very very long time...simply billiant

  • That's how it starts... in no time at all they'll be your number one band, full-stop. Luckily i found Elbow about a month after Asleep in The Back came out and they've been my bestest band ever since.

  • Awesome song and voice, 2nd best song behind grounds for divorce.

  • I hear a lot of Radiohead-influence in this band. Very good

  • Have to say, watched this numerous times and it's still my favourite music video of all time. Elbow are an awesome band, and this vid just puts the icing on the cake.

  • Great video! Made me laugh. At first I thought it was just another plain video but they surprised me with this.

  • Potential?! And they're from Bury.

  • Well said dunkerz...im from Heywood so i can see them over the hill... suppose its easy to generalise and put bands from the nearest city...but of course, The Fall are from Salford, Buzzcocks from Oldham...blah blah...best to thing ever to come out of Bury...ELBOW

  • Its always good to watch a good song along with a good video, first time hearing this group fell in love with their music and went and got the CD off amazon today these guys are good!!

  • killer

  • muy buen grupo

  • da lead singer reminds me of da radiohead lead singer

  • that bass is killer!

  • aww poor garvey. out of all of them i wanted the others to die most :). still great song and great band

  • This video is hilarious, Guy cracks me up. Just bought cast of thousands and love the masterpiece that is Fallen Angels, plus everytime I listen to it I imagine Guy on a tiny clown scooter. Lol.

  • wow ive never seen this video all the way through, its amazing!

  • extraordinary... I love Guys boozy voice ^^

  • watch every video by VenomFangX.

  • This song is quality

  • u wouldnt know good tunes if it bit u in the ass u chronic masterbator eat shit and die of syphilis HA

  • U obviously are ignorant of truely good music then

  • Thanks for that. Really insightful.

  • Yea?.. Well your a bloody cow and all.

  • What's with all the thumbs down?... I'm a fan. It was directed at that tit head you pack of shrub rocketeers.

  • lol... if you dont like a band why wud u comment...loser!! u wouldnt find me commenting on an aqua video... this band is mint..

  • Not Porny enough for you 69fordgreenmonster?

Has anyone seen this guys favourites list?

Obviously spending too much time with his hand on IT.

  • Not to agree with 69ford/the masturbator, but although lyrically brilliant I do feel Elbow lack the diversity to go from a good band to a brilliant band. Having heard a good live set from them at Glastonbury I was expecting more from their most recent album.

  • i agree that elbow lack the diversity when doing a set. but when they are the main attraction like in colston hall april 2008, they changed a lot all the way through

  • I'm inclined to agree actually. I love Elbow and I do enjoy the new album, but if it wasn't for the glorious "One Day Like This" I wouldn't be massively impressed with it. I miss their angst from Asleep in the Back and Cast of Thousands to be honest. I don't think getting married, having children and settling down has a particularly positive effect on some artists music-wise!

  • The lead singer reminds me of "Jeff" from Saw III.

  • I Like this !!! =D

  • what a song and what a video!

  • What a top song

  • nice

  • what album is this song on cause i want it I bought seldom seen kid and love it

  • Give it uuuuuuup for the Bury boys, My son jamed with these lads (John Neild) great group great lad......

  • Right now I know how the lead singer feels...

  • i love the video! :-)

    and - great band!

  • Heheh, tis an awesome video for an awesome band. After hearing Grounds For Divorce I now wanna buy Seldom Seen Kid.

  • Only got listening to them a few months ago.. I heard 'Grounds For Divorce' got the album and fell hard for it.Such unique sounds, the lead sings voice being the most stand out instrument they're using. Songs like The Bones Of You which is filled with such feeling and Mirror Ball, that takes you on a soft romantic vocal trip... Fuckin Mint.

  • had a choice of goin seein these or Portishead...went to Portishead which was pure class...but I gotta see these guys sooner or later or i'll die unhappy!

  • i'v heard one of their songs.. dey must be good if ppl are still paying to see em kul

  • I love this song and the video is good too.

  • ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ... etc

  • funny vid. Great song.

  • This is my favourite song ever, I can't actually think of any sound which lifts my spirits more than this!

  • This is still brilliant but grounds for divorce is difinately the best.

  • just wait til you get a listen to THE BONES OF YOU.

    it's really incredible

  • i defenitely agree with you ;)

  • Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band

  • Yea. If it ate Venus In Furs

  • Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band

  • long life to the indie

  • intro reminds me of the beatles...dont know which song...you tell me....

  • Ya know, I love the band to pieces, but his whishhhhpering eshesh are beginning to drive me shlightly batty.

  • it hasnt the raggadness or raspy edge that grounds for divorce has - not that it isnt brilliant lol

  • And that's a great thing. Big Genesis fan. I remember a few years back putting my daughter down for a nap, listening to hits album... She is now 4 and still can recognize the band's songs.

  • I have been a fan of elbow for years yet have never seen this vid-had a proper chuckle!! Excellent stuff-love it!

  • I love the turn of events, he's fantisising about killing the band, then he's the one who actually gets killed.

  • Guy Garvey's mum lives near me my mum remembers him wen he was little lol gd band

  • I like this song, but prefer grounds for divorce

  • love this band so much. remember hearing powder blue when i was young, and it just clicked. genius

  • Top band new album this year 08

  • Is he trying to kill the black band member...or is it incidental who is squished...public sector working makes you notice things otherwise invisible to the naked eye!!!

  • He's just fantasising about killing the whole band.

  • Love these men...no matter how many times they crop up in my life...never get tired

  • i know these dudes from manchester :D cheapies

  • So do I!

  • so pain and anger in his voice -and he's just whispering

  • they really are the bollocks, cant wait for their 4th album. my god they are good. the best song they have ever done is ,,,,asleep in the back,,,, what a song!

    steve cape town

  • I love these men.

  • With the amount of these I see on here, I'm waiting for a rash of inexplicable deaths to sweep North American teens.

So far, nothing yet. I wonder why that is? ;)

  • Does anyone else think the lead singer sounds like the guy in Gorrilaz

  • arre you on crack???lol this dude is much better

  • i agree...at least in parts of this song

  • The lead singer of the Gorillaz is Damon Albarn, used to be lead singer of Blur

  • If anyone, Guy sounds a lot like Peter.

  • im going to see them in april! :)ive seen them before live and theyre amazing, elbow are the best.

  • i have 2 albums....these guys are...well..

will the rest of the world catch up?

  • Drag your feathers across the dance floor... throw your shapes electric blue..you don't need to sleep alone, you bring the house downnnnnnnn, choose your favorite choose and keep your blues on cruise controlllll

  • Top tune.

  • Do they have a promoter? Please sack him and let the world into the secret that is Elbow -such talent it needs to be heard.

  • I kind of agree with you on the one hand... but i quite like the fact that they are a little bit of an unknown quantity to most people and i like that it feels a bit like they're "my band" if you know what i mean.

    :-)

  • Aye I certainly do its a bit like having a fantastic holiday destination that others are unaware of - once people get wind it gets altered beyond recognition. It just seems such a shame that there is so much crap out there that gets airplay and plaudits when there is such talent her overlooked. :o) Cant have it both ways I guess.

  • I know what you mean by that holiday comparison and it's true that 90% of the stuff on the radio these days is pure dross.

Lets just be safe in the knowledge that we know good music... and that music is Elbow.

  • Yer I agree too, its nice to have something a little unkown to listen to, a break from the mainstream stuff (if thats what the stuff that is played on the radio alot means)

  • I like them not being so well known! It's kinda of my little thing I like to enjoy without the world going "OMGZZZ ELBOOOW"

  • does anyone know if they will be coming to canada anytime soon?

  • In horror movie-fashion, the black guy was the first to die. heh

    Poor guy.

  • Thats only coz there isn't a bespectacled geek in the band!! Though, sometimes they do survive... its a lottery man...

  • I tend to be a man of many views and opinions but this band renders' me speechless. There is not an American band that could hold a candle to them. "Viva La Elbow"!

  • so underated, this is a top top tune. Manchester the centre of the music universe, I dare anyone to challenge that!

  • Ojalá algún día tocaran en México... ¡Sería surreal! Aunque no imposible, si Muse por fin llegó hasta acá, ¿porque Elbow no habría de hacerlo?

  • come to brazil!!!!

  • 엘보우 멋있는 노래 감사....

  • a brilliant song! the whole album is really great!

  • one of the best songs i've ever heard.

  • great track... i think i like any and every song that has a vague chug-a-long rhythm going eg. heroes-bowie, blindness- the fall, get off/nietzche- dandy warhols

  • fuckin awesome!!! yet again Manchester does it again, maybe i'm biased coz i'm from there, but the music that spews outta this city is like no other anywhere in the world.

  • paradicka, aj ked som na ich koncerte skolabovala od nedostatku vzduchu a pitneho rezimu, boli wymakany !!!

  • great band great songs. You bring the house down!!!

  • me gusta la cancion

  • YO TAMBIEN, me encantan

  • lovem!!!
