I believe in god, I talk to people who have different views. Hard to self regulate that one, particularly when you can state things as politely and neutrally as ... (Neutrally actually a word? ... ... ) ... anyway, hard to know what constitutes assaholic behaviour when sometimes the slightest thing sets people off.
How much of the argument you saw was intact? This could have been something that spun out of control over the course of months by the sounds of it.

I am against all religions, including atheism.
When you put these titles to them it almost limits what you can learn.
You will come across these stubborn assholes in all religions, learn about each of them for yourself and you wont need these assholes trying to tell you what to believe.

Not all atheists are jerks tho. I'm an atheist yet when someone talks to me about there religion, i don't really say condescending things about there believes, because I think that having an organized can be healthy for some but it's not for everyone. The only time I really get angry at someone for there beliefs is when it's blatantly hurting others, and they turn there religion into some sort of cult or secret club where Ppl are judged

I am a Muslim and I don't really talk about my religion much, although I am proud of it and my atheist tried to constantly convert me to become a theist and when I was fasting she made me cry. I cried on the shoulder of my other atheist friend who said the exact same words as you did, Laci Green! You da bomb :D

A-theism is the opposite of theism. Theism is the belief in a theistic god. Thus a-theism is the lack of belief in a theistic god.
Theistic gods are personal, involved, knowable, definable (to an extent). People who do not believe in this kind of god are atheists; it's a much broader term than many people realize, and contrary to popular opinion, does not necessarily mean the outright denial of any higher power, nor eating babies or devil worship (ironically a religious idea)

Most of the time I didn't know they were atheists until something they said made me ask. and then i was like 'cool' and simply added it to the database that is mah brain.
I'm Christian but that doesn't define me.
Just like Atheism doesn't define my friends.
That being said, being an arse DOES define you.
Sadly, the atheists who HAPPEN to be arses tend to overshadow the the normal people who HAPPEN to be atheists.

Yes, I'd been in that room before, and it reminded me of a conservative radio talk show. You're absolutely right. Not all Atheists are assholes. Not all Assholes are Atheists. Atheism is such a narrow aspect of ones life, but too many treate it like it's an entire ideology. There are too many directions you can go in from that point to make one size fit all. Atheism isn't immune from fundamentalism.
