LOL Man i hate to say it thats wayyyy more than overkill... changing the rear fans to a 12v power source is more than enough the reason u see all the crazy cooling devices on pcs is because they can be overclocked (set to work harder and faster than originally designed) thus producing more heat. but the 360 cannot.

Dude that is awsome. i did it to my xbox elite this moring and it is running great. its had the 1 red light for about 2 yrs and i tried every thing and it would never get pass the red light. and i found a way to rig the eject button i took pics if you wana see how i did it. I just replaced the x-clamps with the metric bolts and put down some thermal paste. I was getting two red lights and didn't understand it, but the problem was the GPU wasn't pressing down hard enough. The screws got it nice and tight and I haven't had a problem since. 2 months now and its working like a charm!!!
