March 91 Bush began the pull out of troops from Iraq w/o removing Saddam Hussein from power & hoped the Iraqi people would take him out on their own, promising help if they needed it (however HE did not help). April 91 Saddam cracked down on the upraising & 20,000 to 100,000 Kurds & 60,000 to 130,000 Shi'ites were murdered. April 03, CNN revealed it had w/held information about Iraq torturing journalists & Iraqi citizens in the '90s. If we had FINISHED THE JOB THEN, we prob wouldnt be there NOW.
It would seem Obama would go into another sovereign nation to do what would be in the best interest of the United States... no matter what that other Country might think about that... doesn't he CARE what the world might think of such an act?
Aug 2007 about Pakistan Obama said this: "It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will." In 2005 the mission was "aborted at the last minute after top Bush administration officials decided it was too risky and could jeopardize relations with Pakistan.
Calling people names because they have a different opinion - childish. I remember a time when I would get dozens of emails calling on Americans to press our Government to do something about the defenseless women in Afghanistan that were being suppressed, beaten & killed just for being women in a world run by Men. I remember when the first Bush turned his back on the Kurds in Iraq, even though he promised them help, and they were SLAUGHTERED by Saddam. Did you say anything in their defense then?
Well, that was 3 months ago you said that. Even the liberal press is acknowledging the success in Iraq. Now, just like Obama says... we need to secure Afghanistan and finish the job there. OH and by the way... demand is down (around the world) and ever since Pres. Bush dropped the exec. order to not drill off our shores and asked Congress to lift theirs, wow, the price of oil started dropping. Imagine that.
"Finish the job there"?? Jesus what planet are you on? So innocent Iraqis (and say whatever you want, the majority of Iraqis who are killed are innocent), is just "finishing a job"? It's people like you who are the reason us of the Western World are the most hated people in the universe. Everything is just "the bottom line" or "finishing the job." We couldnt possibly be seen to be backing out of something, could we, hmm? No matter how many lives are lost....
