  • 3:18 i dont want to sound like a faggot but im pointing something out here. He says we have developed extremely powerful technology so we have a desire to change the physical world. But would he usually say something like humans are part of the physical universe because people are a symptom of the physical universe, and the physical universe is people and people created the technology So wouldn't it be the universe creating technology trying to change itself? And technology is part of the univer

  • Nice Video...music is over powering though..by the way WHO is the Artist and what is the Song..thanks..nice music...sounds like American Indian

  • Very hard to hear the voice with such loud music.

  • DAMN THAT WAS GOOD.....

  • Can't hear this very well, shame :-)

  • Is it supposed to be almost impossible to hear what he is saying???

  • Wonderful Alan Watts track - extremely annoying music!

  • 2:58

  • Comment removed

  • Staggering....

  • I can't hear what he says when hes talking about christianity and says it is the same as the christian paradox "Whosoever shall say to................." whats the part after to?

  • i love how simply he always explains things

  • exactly. He is wonderful at taking these teachings and explainging them in a way we westerners can understand.

Some people say he "spoils" the whole thing. But I think he gives us a glimpse, and its up to us to really learn them on our own, if we so choose

  • isohunt has a good alan torrent. way better listening to him with no shit music fogging out his voice.

  • yeah, wtf is he saying.

  • remove the annoying music.

  • budhist are mean

  • ive figured it all out, god is a hotdog

  • yep, and i just gobbled him up in a bowl of beanie-weenies.

  • ....the million masks of God.....

  • ****

  • I wish with all the editing they could clean up the audio.

  • I believe Allan Watts is a true bodhisattva, thanks so much for the post.

  • i agree

  • In this case, I am OK with the music and imagery. In fact, I really like it. However I do concur in general that there are too many videos on youtube that make their eccentric edits the star of the show at the expense of content...and it sucks when the content is so good that it deserves to be heard unadulterated.

  • OK listen up all you well-meaning people out there wishing to share videos of this kind:

We appreciate that you want to embellish the lectures with your choice of music. However, if you insist on imposing your taste in music on millions of viewers, remember that it is the CONTENT, the VOICE which carries the MEANING. Therefore, keep the volume of the music LOW. Once you've lowered the volume, lower it a little more, then you'll have gotten just about right. thanks.

  • your opinion is respected, how I wish I had a time machine to go back 15 years and sit at the design meeting at Om Records and adjust that volume for you. This was ment to Turn people on to Watts, and spread some inlightenment. Go read his book.

  • @reedski57 Ego loves sarcasm

  • Hee hee. Don't be so spiky!

  • haha, it's ok- that was funny :)

  • :) Glad you liked it. I agree with you on volume btw.

  • that was in response to reedski57

  • @davidewetube SORRY I DIDNT GET THAT, WILL YOU PLEASE SING IT TO ME? :)

  • @davidewetube you need to smoke a bowl and try again.

  • why did you mix up Alan watt's lectures with your subjective taste of music and art.

Your sampling and editing audio and video clips together only goes against what Alan Watts claimed not to do, that is cutting things up into bits. Nothing can beat the uncut versions of Alan Watts lectures without all the distracting music and video. let people use their own memories and imagination to construct a concept of what Alan is saying.

  • The original CD came that way. This guy didn't do it. I've owned the OM CD since it came out. You can see it on my page in HQ format. Peace.

  • yes I did.

  • Ok, maybe you did put this montage thing together, maybe not. Either way, I was one of the like 4 other folks in the world who purchased the original Om CD-Rom. Peace

  • ...and all the comments come from Buddha's

  • wonderful!

    one hand claps for you

  • What kind of people will use technology is indeed the best question regarding all tech! Perhaps we need an ecological test for a thecno-license to use technology. Before anyone can use a machine on their own they need to take a test to determine whether they are a person who hates nature an dfeel alienated from it or are they people who love the physical world and feel the world as their own body. This very body is Buddha.

  • This video. Good.

  • Can one truely see the world and fight the world at the same time? Fighting perception?

  • It's like, can one see yourself, and still fight yourself at the same time?

  • Yes or, to answer, no. The world and the self are the same in that both contain each other. I have issues with fighting myself and have lately been examining the problems that result from that flawed perception.

  • maybe if I get a mirror? lol

  • kudos ;)

  • wow , u should check "fableforge"

  • thanks for the video

  • my pleasure,I made this 15 years ago. for you I guess who knew.

  • @reedski57 Looks like 20 years now?
