They have a new show as of 2008 called "Celebrate America: A 4th of July Concert in the Sky" at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland.

it was almost like all of the wishes fireworks displays ever done all rolled up into one massive firework super duper OH MY GOD HOW AMAZING WAS THAT kinda display!

Between all of the nighttime show spectaculars that go on in the Disney parks, Disney spends approximately $60,000 every night...$80,000 if Fantasmic is performed twice. So, I think this qualifies as QUITE impressive.

the price doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the quality of a fireworks show. its about making less seem like more :) I don't consider 60k$ mind blowing when it is spread among all the 5(?) parks. 12.000$ isn't going to buy me even the smallest of fireworks shows here in Denmark. A normal "wedding package" is around 22.000$.... but then again, Denmark is a wealthy and therefore expensive country to live in. 12.000$ may buy a lot more in USA, than here.

I do apologize if I sounded in any way disparaging. The fact is, I have never been to Denmark and therefore, don't know enough about the culture/money matters/fireworks. But, it seems you haven't been to Disney World (4 parks, by the way) and therefore aren't familiar with all the entertainment they have to offer. True, price doesn't have anything to do with quality, but it is certainly there in more ways than one. Disney has atmosphere and magic and that was part of Walt Disney's vision.

I sadly didn't have the time to go to a Disney park at my last (and so far only) visit in USA. I have friends, that have had the pleasure of doing so, and I have only heard positive things about their experiences. the atmosphere and "magic" is most certainly a very central point of the stories I've heard. and some day I WILL visit to experience the magic:) but I don't think the fireworks makes much of a difference for me really :)

There are certainly more shells used in the 4th of july fireworks. Magic Kingdom used over 1500 in each of its 2 main 4th of july shows. EPCOT used well over 3000.

I wouldn't be so sure. I know a few cast members and they say that Disney is very mindful of costs and in these economic times, they're watching every penny. That's why they had to lay off several hundred cast members and scale down their showings of Fantasmic.

Let's not forget about the presentation Disney does with the fireworks! The music, the set up, and it being Disney, that's what matters most! :D

Well, wow. This is about the best. The fireworks I have seen so far doesn't last more than 3-5 mins.
