grjoseph, thank you very much, sir, for sharing. I am truly grateful to be able to step back in time to the beautiful memories this sweet pan music brings....
It would be nice if someone can post the first Panorama in 1963. North Stars with" Dan is the man in the Van." Sundowners with "Harry and Mama" and Desperadoes with "The Road". This is a Historic occasion as it was the beginning of the greatest musical competition on planet Earth. Thanks.
I was present in Queens Hall that Night. That festival was a major milestone in the growth of pan, Too bad North Stars aren't one of the premier bands today: they were one of the greats.
I'm trying to locate and post as much of the old stuff that I can find. These outstanding performances deserve to be heard(and seen if possible)
This is a follow up to the above comment. The Professor told Panam North Stars" that the air sparkles with electricity when they play," and he told City Syncopators "he wished he could have wrapped up their tune Poets and Peasants in a piece of paper and take it back to England with him." North Stars also played this same tune but their rendition of the test piece Intermezzo in E Flat was out if this world. All Great Bands. Please post more of our Music for we enjoy them all. Thanks.
Every time you listen to Cavaliers you are sure to get excited and in a happy mood . This tune shows how versatile they were. I had the honor to have played in the Steel Band Festival of 1966 at Queens Hall where the Adjudicator Professor John Russel said "the arranger of Guinness Cavaliers had the cleanest ear for music he had ever heard"The tune was "Carmen". So please post more music from this Great Band. Thanks

@SuperSnk1 "the greatest musical competition on planet Earth."
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that.
