If helpful... and hope it is... for rhythm patterns to work on, flat out watch and do, I just found and used my self 101 rhythms by Ratigan... he's here too. If you search google/amazon using 101 rhythms ASIN: B001IB5WBC Ratigan that DVD (video stream) will come up. For someone like you, obviously talented musician... this inexpensive collection of rhythms could help?, break oneself out of do dah, do do dah :) ... not that, that's you ... but rhythm variations is what this is for.
