Especially in 45ACP, the 1911 just seems to have shooting qualities that just work well for me. Not sure what exactly it is, but it just points well and if you reload, you can tweek loads to make them really mild.....so to answer....I am in the market for more 1911s!!!!

just bought a smith & wesson 1911 today spent about 900 on it and i love it. Its my 5th 1911 ( 2 custom shop kimbers, 1 springer milspec, a DW Valor and now a Smith.) Have not shot it but it feels incredibly solid and the blue finish is great, With the exception of my DW valor i think my smith is going to be my new favorite.
Moved out of Massachusetts right after Deval Patrick was elected. Soooooooo glad I did. @slowandpainless honestly, and i'll catch a lot of crap for this, I think there are better carry options for EDC than a 1911, even compact 1911s. love the 1911, but i think that a subcompact striker fired weapon is better. polymer is good, it's light. the other consideration is a J frame revolver. dosen't mean you cant or shouldnn't, and I do carry mine in colder weather. i'm just saying there is a lot going on if you carry in condition 1.

I am from South Carolina and I purchased and left the store within 20 minutes with the gun.. Also we don't register any firearms here in this state... Last point we can buy and sell firearms in a parking lot in front of the poice as long as its not stolen or selling to minors... If you buy one and it does come back stolen all you have to do is give up the gun.. Seems like you need to move here lol! By the way in that same gun shop I bought this from you can get a barret 50 cal sniper rifle!
Just got mine yesterday and had it to the range today. Man what an awesome gun to shoot. I love the way it fits in my hand and feels great to shoot. I have a glock 22 but this gun feels alot nicer in my hand to me. I seem to shoot a bit better with it as well but i'm no expert. Love it , glad I bought mine.

I have a Norinco 1911 - it shoots very nicely, BUT, I think it's because it was assembled and possibly modified by someone who really knew his stuff. I cringe every time I see "Made in China" but I keep it because it was my grandpas and it will do the job of protecting my house until I get a S&W or Colt. Love your rants!

Nice! I agree with everything you had to say. Have family in Massachusetts, one of my family members keeps rifles with bolts removed and extension cords running through the action with a lightbulb on the end. Anyone asks, it's a lamp. At least according to him. MA and CA should get in line with FL and VA and the rest of the free states!

@Ridgid MA gun laws are stupid.....but alas...we both live here so we arent surprised. good question about 1911s. I got away from the 1911 for a while and now I think that is all I want to shoot. Especially in 45ACP, the 1911 just seems to have shooting qualities that just work well for me. Not sure what exactly it is, but it just points well and if you reload, you can tweek loads to make them really mild.....so to answer....I am in the market for more 1911s!!!!

just bought a smith & wesson 1911 today spent about 900 on it and i love it. Its my 5th 1911 ( 2 custom shop kimbers, 1 springer milspec, a DW Valor and now a Smith.) Have not shot it but it feels incredibly solid and the blue finish is great, With the exception of my DW valor i think my smith is going to be my new favorite.

@johniac7078 Well I want it as an everyday carry gun and I don't know if I can easily handle one because I have only shot a 22 caliber rifle and a double barrel shotgun so those aren't exactly close to a 45 pistol. Do you think its a good gun for everyday carry?

@slowandpainless honestly, and i'll catch a lot of crap for this, I think there are better carry options for EDC than a 1911, even compact 1911s. love the 1911, but i think that a subcompact striker fired weapon is better. polymer is good, it's light. the other consideration is a J frame revolver. dosen't mean you cant or shouldnn't, and I do carry mine in colder weather. i'm just saying there is a lot going on if you carry in condition 1.

I am from South Carolina and I purchased and left the store within 20 minutes with the gun.. Also we don't register any firearms here in this state... Last point we can buy and sell firearms in a parking lot in front of the poice as long as its not stolen or selling to minors... If you buy one and it does come back stolen all you have to do is give up the gun.. Seems like you need to move here lol! By the way in that same gun shop I bought this from you can get a barret 50 cal sniper rifle!

Just got mine yesterday and had it to the range today. Man what an awesome gun to shoot. I love the way it fits in my hand and feels great to shoot. I have a glock 22 but this gun feels alot nicer in my hand to me. I seem to shoot a bit better with it as well but i'm no expert. Love it , glad I bought mine.

I have a Norinco 1911 - it shoots very nicely, BUT, I think it's because it was assembled and possibly modified by someone who really knew his stuff. I cringe every time I see "Made in China" but I keep it because it was my grandpas and it will do the job of protecting my house until I get a S&W or Colt. Love your rants!
