  • i have seen those little fans under the right wing on a few planes like this can anyone tell me what its for my guess is to run a pump but if i am right what is the benefit of that type of pump over something electronically driven

  • @bigcountry1903 The fan is located under the hopper and yes, it is used to drive a pump. To ensure that the chemical is applied at an even rate, the fan will automatically speed up as the plane does because of the increased airspeed. They require less maintanence and no energy as compared to an electric pump.
