I have a long tentacle anemone that i've had for one week. it opens up during the night (lights off), and closes during the day is that normal behavior? any advice would be greatly appreciated! btw nice clowns and anemone!!
I don't know the latin name for them. I think there is only one black and white type and it is a variation on the occelaris, not the false type. Thanks, that anemone is very hearty, has divided about 5 times now.
Dude, this is nice. I'm sure they will breed. The coral you got are great and seems like you got lots of them too. Just be careful with the heat wave that may come soon since last 2 years ago many of my corals died because of the heat. I may do coral again but for now I just got feather, strawberry and some type of grass but yours looks terrific.
Thanks. The soft coral is pulsating Xenia from the Red Sea, really grows well so there is much more of it now. Breeding clownfish would be great. Sorry about your coral, many people put those coolers on their reef thanks.

That does seem kind of opposite. Keep the lights on a timed schedule (daytime) and give it some more a few more days to weeks to acclimate.

Is it possible that the anemone could be nocturnal and it is just opening up to eat. Anemones are not plants or flowers, They are animals.

yes they are animals. but they open up towards the light so their zooanthalea (spelled right?) can capture it and make food for the anemone.
