I was about to say how hard is it to wipe off your fingers. LOL it would probably take you less time wiping your fingers than getting up and grabbing a battery (if one isn't near you) and then using it.

what i do is a get a bit of paper and tape it over my touch pad, it works just as good as it would without, but you can throw it away afterwards

no the battery does not harm your device. The touch pad looks for electric currents that are running. for example your hand or in this case a battery. Try using a wooden or plastic object and you will see that it does not work. Hope this helps

It does not damage your laptop, as small electric charges and magnets are different. I've been using it for about an hour and nothing wrong, though it's a tad unreliable. Try wrapping tinfoil around the blunt side of a pencil or other wooden. It works MUCH better.

Well i actually wrapped the foil around the flat side of a colored pencil and made a sharp point with it. In the end, I dropped the whole idea since it was getting annoying.
