@veyvey0905 for me yes!!, I prefer the Nvidia Tegra 2 chip and the metal back. Otherwise, S2 has a better camera and super amoled plus, thinner. Galaxy S 2 is better but I would recommend the Galaxy R as it is less common, virtually rare!! lots of people have a galaxy s 2, stand out and be bold!

@Rockeymaru: The Galaxy R doesn't have super amoled like the Galaxy S does, but it has a 1 ghz dual core processor, a slightly bigger screen, more RAM, and a Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H processor. So I would guess that the Galaxy R is better than the Galaxy S.

This is a good alternative if you're not fussy about the SLCD screen (which, btw, is pretty good) compared to the S-AMOLED of the S2 or the slightly thicker dimension. It also ups the S2 in one area....the Tegra 2 chip...you can now play exclusive tegra 2 games the S2 is unable to.

@mrjc183 No android phone can be compared to an iphone. Lookswise or software. There may be similarities but android are going in their own direction and so are the manufacturers who make the phones. How many different routes are there to go down when designing the os and phone. There is always going to be similarities between many phones but it doesn't mean others are copying the iphone, or any other manufacturer for that matter.

I just got a GS2 a few days ago and when I saw this I was a little upset to see the nvidia tegra chipset in a cheaper phone with almost the same features but the fact that GS2 has a larger more vivid display, a better camera and a thinner design makes it worth the money. I could have been happy with this but the fact that I dont play games on my phone made the GS2 a better phone for me than this. Great addition to the Galaxy family though! :)

@soleil3gs the tegra 2 SOC is a year old & ever1 was buying the lies & BS going around "all the new dual core's are better" remember when qualcomms 1.2 ghz x2 snapdragons were better? even the exynos loses to this 1 & 1/2 yr old chipset.it's NVIDIA ! i just got the photon 4G and this phone has a qHD screen (960x540 resolution) & i get a quadrant score of 3100! that's insane given the fact that a qHD screen renders & processes 35% more pixel's, also that its a 1 ghz cpu, linpack score is 67MF.

Personally I prefer the build quality of the Samsung Galaxy R as well as the SC LCD screen, I prefer accurate colors to the SA+ of the GSII, and as for the processor this clearly shows that the Tegra 2 is equally as powerful as the Exynos.

Unfortunately I didn't find videos with Antutu 2.0, but there were videos with the older version for both phones. In the videos the Droid X2 scored 188 in 3D and the SGSII scored 316. The 2D test was closer with 144 for the X2 and 148 for the SGSII, but I don't see how the Tegra is faster...

@HardstylaH96 if you see the droid x2 vs galaxy s2 youll see that the droid x2 keeps up & even wins in the graphics GPU benchmarks & that is with the droid x2 having lower specs such as 512 mb ram, qHD (960x540) res & android 2.2 vs the galaxy s2 1 GB ram, WVGA (800x400) res & android 2.3. so if you do the math you can understand why the galaxy R wins, because now it has the same specs as the exynos soc has & it shows that if it keeps up with low specs, then it wins with equal specs.
