oh my god I feel so bad for you. Mines not even 1/3rd the same size and I'm in such immense pain:(. Anything to help the process besides pills?

not true. sour things can make you produce more saliva and cause it to swell more and be more painful. i went through this sucked on a lemon or sour candy and made it worse. when i finally talked to a specialist he said that was the worst thing i could do to get rid of the pain. depending on the size of the stone and where it is in the duct or stuck in the gland there are different options i had them all done, none worked so i had my gland removed that worked!! lost 60lbs 1 month from not eating

Sour candy? Use a lemon. Sometimes just the thought of a lemon will cause the duct to contract and expel the stone. If not, just bite down into a lemon slice and get back jack!

When the stone comes out, remember that there may be a gland full of stones which periodically rise to block the duct.

Try some antibiotics, suck on sour candy and drink lots of cranberry juice, as long as it says 100% Juice. id you think it was mumps?

i have had this for 3 days now, it got infected so i am taking anti biotics. hope yours got better, mine hurts like the  dickens and whole left jaw hurts

i have had swelling like this a coulple times and it resolved without complication within a day. i did not seek medical attention because of lack of pain.

It's sub mandibualr swelling.........the gland is swollen may be due to calculus...the inside mouth picture reveals it!

I would go to an ENT and demand an MRI. I just did and I have a deep lobe parotid tumor. Luckily it looks benign, but am still scared. Good luck.

Did they tell you about what the swollen gland under your tounge was all about because i have that too and its really scary...I also have a swollen lymph on the back of my neck the size of a marble and it hurts like crazy...

So..... did that sour candy treatment work? I think ii may have a similar issue. I think it is my submandimular gland that is the swollen one. It's an odd sensation when i eat something after i haven't for a while. So i def think that's what it is. Still going ot the doctor this morning anyways though. i hope your problem went away and hope mine does as well.

yeah i had swelling of the gland, but then i developed a saliva gland stone and i can control the saliva so i wont get a swelling, its quite weird, but is it just normal and harmless?

I have the same thing going on with me. I have gone to a Dr.Taffet here in Phoenix and he's been giving me the run around for 5 F'n years. I'm going to a different Dr as soon as the gland swells again. the stones keep passing through.
