Amazing stuff... someone mentioned him on Football365 and I checked him out. imo, one of the best dribblers ever. Fearless; didn't care; just did whatever he felt like; played for the joy of it. My new favorite player...
No vale xra nada!!
Of course for very different reasons but ask the red star fans how important Prosinecki was during 91 cup, and most will say prosinecki. This guy was so good probably had the best technique of his generation along with Stojkovic.
@jaca025 First of all nobody is asking you what you think. Secondly he was the mvp of 91 european cup along with savicevic. The world football elite of the late 80's and early 90's all agreed on that he was one of the top youngsters out there. His skills are really rare and demand a high intelligence and great technique as well. For me Robert was a great team player.
Imagine if the 1987 world youth world champions could have played for the same national team through the 1990s. I think the bronze of Croatia in 1998 would have been surpassed several times! What a generation that was...
Red Star Team in '90-'92 was so dominant whit so many Superstars almost on every position and it was a such a pleasure to watch how much fan they have togheter no matter who was agains them...
I feel lucky to have been able to watch him play for Portsmouth five times at Fratton park, it's fair to say his smoking habit didn't help prolong his career and that he was playing against inferior opposition such as Grimsby Town, but I can honestly say he was the best player I've ever seen at Fratton Park. He laid on so many goals for the likes of Peter Crouch and (before he was injured) Mark Burchill and was a sheer, brilliant showman. One of the best ever.
Must tell i feel so jeaulous wish i was there to see him play. As far as i know there aren't any dvd collection of pompey's games that season. But i appreciate pompey fans commenting on his performance.
This is a compilation that was made by Sekurarattu that's named Keep Dribble. Shows his ability to hold and keep the ball. If you want to see his goals there are other videos of him. He was a big part of red star belgrade, scoring 4 goals, when they won the European cup 91 (todays champions league). A part from that named best youth player in WC 87 in chile where they won. That team to this date still has the record for best goal difference in youth world cup.
@1966hero Infuriatingly greedy...hmm so that would mean you are furious about his skill? Envious? And calling him greedy, greed is not having the ball it is wanting the ball. I am sure he received many passes for his amazing contribution to the team. And if he is dribbling in his own half, even if its for 45 minutes, its not greedy. No risk taken, especially with his technique.
@WarComp196111 its a team game. i was a defender in my playing days- i'd have been happy to play against him.... watching his team mates get exasperated as they run around to find space, only for him to go round and round with the ball. Lovely skills, just not effective.
Man i think you would have been honoured to meet an opponent with his caliber. I reckon you wouldn't even have been close to touching the ball. As mentioned before this video only shows his ability to hold the ball and dribble. Not goalscoring, which he did every fourth game on average throughout his entire career. Seems to me you post comments withouth sufficient knowledge. Don't think stojkovic, savicevic, jugovic minded him dribbling, he was mvp of European Cup 91.
@The1973monkey - Only that he did a lot more than skillful turns. I'm a RM fan and remember his time there very fondly. Maybe the clip should show some of RP's goals as well....
You obviously know very little of Prosinecki and you are basing your ludicrous comment solely on contents of the video. If you had any ounce of football knowledge, you would note that Prosinecki's job was not score goals, but orchestrate the offense. Xavi is a perfect recent example.
@The1973monkey He was a midfielder who was one of the best players ever to play the world game! The Red Star team that won the European Cup, Real Madrid and Barcelona, you do not play for these teams if you are not one of the best!
@The1973monkey the name of the video under the description is called dribble, keep because this is just showing his dribble skills if you want to see his goals (and he had a lot) or pass skills for that matter type in Robert Prosinecki goals or passes
ovako bi rijetko tko mogao od velikih igraca danasnjice na srednjoskolskom protiv lokalnih haklera a kamoli na velikoj sceni protiv najvecih. Prosinecki je bio neki potpuno svoj film.
He had the most technical ability of any player I've ever seen bar none. For whatever reason, his career was nowhere near as good as it should have been, but for pure natural talent, he's ahead of them all, anybody you wanna name past or present.
Sta ovo vam je doasdno? Onda mora da je bolje danas kad nabijaju loptu ko kreteni,a lopta je vise u autu nego u igri...kao da igraju sa panjevima, a ne loptama ovo je playstation u odnosu na ex yu lige.
@mima19killer Savicevic was superior than Robert. I admired Robert's view of the game, but not this trick...His arsenal with tricks wasn't big enough to put him within the "Big boys". Like, Ronaldinho, Maradona, Figo, Savicevic, Lechkov, Baggio, etc.
He was probably the best player of his generation in theformer Yugoslavia...but he never fulfilled his potential...too indolent and lazy...he didn´t train well,he loved to go out every night and he often looked distracted during matches...he had problems to focus and concentrate in the game and he didn´t pay much attention to the coach's indications either...it's a real shame, cause he had the potential to do great things...maybe to become one of the best...but he screwed it himself.
if croatia would have been allowed to qualify for World Cup '94.....no doubt with a younger prosinecki, Boban, and Suker would they have won the World Cup.
