  • Why are people arguing if this is real or not? 0.o "Simon didn't panic so it must have been set up" Simon has been working with cheetahs for well over 20 years. You think he'd know how to react in a situation like this. Also, I don't believe he would partake in making cheetahs look bad and or attempt to hurt them.

  • @tintin8ify

because they never show anything happening, they only show Simon Kings back and they blur it out. COme on. Its clearly fake (the second part)

  • @tintin8ify

come on dude, the footage at 1:20 is clearly fake

  • @105km How is it fake -__-.

Simon even talks about it on Big Cat Live

  • @dudewalkers2

well then explain to me - why do they only show his back and blur it out at 1:16 ? I th9ink the first scene is real, but not the second.

  • @105km Yeah..Ok, I was thinking the same thing but still, Why would they fake it. Either way his palm was split open with blood all over it :L

  • @dudewalkers2

lol why? For entertainment maybe? Im not saying there was no attack. Im just saying the second scene was fake. That cheetah at 1:11 was probably Toki just playing with Owen

  • @105km The guy's a pro' and works for the BBC, he wouldnt need to fake anything. Just because the camera wasnt on it at the time, you assume it's fake...that's really stupid.

  • @comanchio1976

Youre the one who sound stupid now. Think how unlikley that is

  • @105km Good comeback. Maybe soon you'll be able to progress so far that you'll make sense.

  • @comanchio1976

tell me then how is it that the camera is always on his back and blurrs out now and then? Hes running around, moving quickley. If youre the cameraman you have to zoom in and work hard to keep on his back. Im not saying the first encounter was fake, but the second one was. You just a naive fool who believes everything he sees on TV. Peace

  • @comanchio1976

lol really dude, I agree with 105km. At 1:11, that does'nt even look like fighting. It is probably just Toki. I would guess that there was an attack on Steven, but they did'nt have any cameras on him, so they fabricated or ''dramatized'' that last shot.

  • @CarlVonNirgendwo @105km So what's more likely? That a respected seasoned professional put his integrity and credibility on the line, for one tiny scene..or..the cameraman panicked?

    I know which one I'm going with..peace.

  • @comanchio1976

what are you talking about? integrity and credibility on the line? Your taking this shit way to seriousley. Its nothing, its just entertainment.

  • @105km This is a nature documentary by the BBC, not some bullshit contrived 'reality' TV program.

If you'd like me to explain what a documentary is, I'm afraid I'm going to decline...that's what Google's for.

  • @comanchio1976

Do you really think they never sanitize scenes on documentaries? Dont be naive. Wildlife filmmakers often even put together shots of 2 or more chases, so that it would look like its one continuous chase sequence. You need to start thinking for yourself my friend, and not blindley believe everything you see on tv :)

  • @comanchio1976

LMAO the cameraman panicked? Had the cameraman panicked he wouldnt have zoomed in and followed King's back. Oh come on, it soooo obvious that scene is fake

  • @105km So someone has to panic in a very specific way for it to be plausible? I've seen lost of footage in war zones of this nature, camera pointing in a certain direction but not controlled too well.

Is all dodgy camera-work in war zones faked?...get real!

  • @comanchio1976

what war-time footige? Give me a war-time video where the camera remained fixated on a persons back just a few centimeters from the action but miraculousley never cought a glimse of it. Your just a naive fool.

  • @105km As much fun as it sounds trawling the internet for clips trying to prove an obvious point, that cameramen sometimes panic, to an obvious halfwit...I think I'll pass. Enjoy your stupidity, it suits you.

  • @comanchio1976

lol the scene is dramatized for sure

  • @comanchio1976

youre the one who cant access the logic part of your brain

  • @CarlVonNirgendwo Who the holy fuck knocked on your padded cell door?

I didnt reply to your first message, which should have been a clue, which obviously didnt manage to reach your tiny mind....that I'm not interested in arguing with you.

Now fuck off and pester someone else, or get a hobby...either way, I'm not interested.

  • the scene is obviously fake. Everyone agrees. But you cant take it, you cant admit you were wrong. I find it very funny

  • @CarlVonNirgendwo What I find funny, is that I've said all there is to say on the matter, told you as clearly as I know how that I'm not interested in arguing...yet you're still having a go.

Go and find a nice girl/boy to alleviate your frustration with, so you dont get so concerned by such trivial things.

    Life, post-virginity is such a care-free place.

Sadly though, I'm not prepared to help you with that, so please stop stalking me.

  • @comanchio1976

im just saying. As shinocicada pointed out, the camera man didnt panic in the first shot, but he remained fixed on Simons not so broad back in the second scene. Just stating the obvious.

  • @comanchio1976

what you said was just foolish

  • @comanchio1976

dont you see how unlikely it would be for that to happane?

  • @105km

I agree with you. I believe the guy WAS bitten, but I don't doubt that was dramatized.

I think the part Steven was fighting off the cheetah -might- be real. Like, the exact scene. But directly after that, nah.

Besides, he didn't panic badly when the cheetah initially ran at them. The scene just didn't look real, the sound and growling was out of place, and the lighting changes pretty dramatically. XD The attack: SUN, the fight: overcast?

    But she really was rabid.

  • @comanchio1976

dont you see how stupid what you said was?

  • @105km I see how stupid what YOU said was...if that counts

P.S. Picking an argument that was dead weeks ago, smacks of desperation and loneliness...I suggest you get yourself a nice hobby...licking windows or basket weaving perhaps.

Either way, I'm not in the slightest bit interested, so I bid you a hearty goodbye..

  • @comanchio1976

now youve hurt me. I hope youre happy! Anyway, I was right about the scene xD

  • @comanchio1976

LMAO why would the camera guy stay fixated on Simons back the whole time? Of course its fake. Its a dramatization. Or else theres something going on.

  • @nan062 "stupid people like this guy are what give big cats bad names" - Simon King does anything but give big cats a bad name. If you like big cats you should watch 'Big Cat Diary' in which he features, it's a great show I highly recommend it.

  • do you fucking know what would stop cheetah from attacking, go and learn how to fake an angry house cat voice and i guarantee 90% cheetah wont attack you

  • Comment removed

  • jonathan scott is awesome

  • Shame that countires always seem to be able to find money to war with each other, but don`t have the money to air-drop vaccines to rabies in endemic areas, and have the world rid of that most awful disease.

  • run it over with that range rover, problem solved, neeeeext

  • Its shame they can't vaccinate these Cheaters with a rabies vaccines they've done with European foxes. That is why you can take your dog to let say France and bring without having too take the animal through 6 months quarantine on the return.

  • Obviously, the rabies hasn't been very established yet. Not excessively aggressive.

  • A bit from a cat, rabid or not, is always more serious than a dog bit simply because they hang on too its victim while dogs will run away after they have bitten the person.

  • I'm not saying ur not correct but in personal experience it's been the opposite. The dog that bit me clung on for dear life (dalmation) while the cat (mutt, farm) jumped away. I know people who are more afraid of cat scratches & bites then dogs...me, I'm not scared of either, LOL I have a second arm, I don't need them both (J/K). Besides, where I live there's at least a 95% chance that the animal is fine. I hate all the lawsuits about animal bites. Don't wanna get bit, don't go near the animal.

  • @garyturner96 Wrong! Completely different bites. Feline, will bite, sink its teeth in, and will try to drag the victim to the ground while also using its claws to slice the gut open. Dogs, bite, hold and shake, with an attempt to do as much shearing and braking as possible.

  • No, not yet, but for a cheetah to attack instead of run...very peculiar. Poor thing. -_-

  • These guys are wimps. I got attacked by 3 rabid male lions. Unfortunately, I had to kill them all with my bare hands. It still bugs me to this day.

  • the cheetah did actully end up having rabies which explains her anger and attact they caught her after this and she died like a few hours after but they all got the jabs and so did toki just incase

  • LIAR!!!

  • is they going to be a new one where he gose back in 2009 to see how he doing in he new place i herd after beein remove for lewa for more space

  • the whole story or the "movie" is so sad but good =)

  • well the scene were the cheetah attacks steven looks fake... 1. if you look closley - the Steven is holding the cheetahs hand, then he lies down

    2. they never show Steven or the cheetah fighting, just Simons back

  • wow bud, you cracked the code. They just made it all up, CGI and whatnot just to impress you.

  • ah fuck you!

  • FAIL

  • The cheetah attacked because she was rabid and Simon King only kicked out in self defence to try to stop her.

  • Hey, ToddWills - did you know the only way to test an animal for rabies is to kill it, behead it and examine it's brain?

Yeah, that sure would have solved everyones problem *sarcasm* kill it to test it for rabies...

  • What does he expect? It's a wild animal for Christ's sake! I thought he was an expert on the matter but he was just stupid! Had that Cheetah been tested positive for rabies then he endangered himself and the whole crew.

  • Cheetahs never attack humans. The only reason this cheetah attacked was bcz of rabie. However leopards do attack and kill humans.

  • what does rabies do to cheetahs?

  • Rabies Also known as hydrophobia is a viral zoonotic neuroinvasive disease that causes acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) in mammals. It is most commonly caused by a bite from an infected animal. This cheetah was infected by rabies that is why it attacked on human otherwise cheetahs never attack humans.

  • Kataria - umm, why don't you do some veterinary research - rabies is fatal to every warm blooded animal that contracts it, unless it is treated /very/ early.

  • KC0TLV,

Why would I spend extra time doing research on a topic that I have little interest in, when I can just ask on youtube and get useful answers from people like balochistan1 who know more on the topic.

I don't like to waste time.

  • "Here Sweety!" (Kicks it in the mouth). Then he is surprised it attacks him.

  • exactly! where in the world can U find a culture that says "hello" only to be kicked in the mouth!! This is guy is a total genius in talking to animals! he is teaching them that "hello" means kick in the ass! lol.. No wonder they also want to say hello by biting his ass! lol

  • He put his foot up because it was running at him to attack it. If you were him would you say hello, let it run at you claw you bite you, and do nothing besides standing there like a post.

I doubt you would and if you did, then your a big fucking pussy and an idiot.

  • Lewis, watch closely - it was only when the cheetah charged that the bloke defended himself - if you were in his shoes you probably would have peed yourself first.

  • He then told the black guy "if she attacks you kick her".The result was that the guy got savaged. He should have sued Kings ass off.

  • True - I'll give you that - but the only reason the cat was attacking and acting odd in the first place is because it had rabies - later on they showed the cat in a cage, frothing at the mouth and having coordination problems - typical symptoms of rabies - it's sad - the cat probably was bitten by a rabid dog or something, and contracted the disease.

  • cheetahs happen to be one of the most mellow of the big cats, and no matter what you think about it, acclimate rather well toward co-existing with people, if raised from cubs as Toki and Sambu were.

  • Yeah in ancient times they were kept as pets at Egyptian royal courts.

  • So King told one of his assistants to approach a cheetah which Kings experience would tell him was showing the classic symptoms of rabies?

  • Did you watch the documentary, in it's entirety? It was only after they had her sedated and caged that the signs of rabies were discovered ... not going to argue this any further with you - as it's pointless

  • Why didn't they just shoot it? They could have carried out tests afterwards too asertain if it had rabies.

  • because it would have been a senseless waste if there was nothing wrong with it.

  • and ... before you tell me that it was due to the sedation that she was frothing at the mouth, if you intend to, please don't - because unless you've worked around these cats ... unless you've studied the effects of chemical immobilization as I have done (read chemical immobilisation of wild and exotic animals and wild mammals in captivity, principles and techniques, and I have several hundred hours practical experience) not sure I want to hear that from you. Just proactively shutting you down.

  • Peace.

  • Peace be with you as well.

  • Why would he sue. If it attacked you what would you do let it bite you or defend yourself.

  • That guy knows, too, that his kick is not going to seriously do any damage to that Cheetah. He's seems to actually be an animal lover. I think I would risk giving a little owee to a Cheetah to save my own life.

  • Yeah. Cheetahs run down and kill huge animals that are fighting for their lives. They can certainly take one little kick to the face.

  • it was running at him going to attack him. He put his foot up to stop it from attacking him. Honestly how fucking stupid are you people. No one smart enough would just let an animal attack them, they are going to stop it some how. the cheetah was already going to attack him, he just stopped it from doing that.

    Fuck grab a brain.

  • sucks for that cheetah... I watched this episode like a week ago, it dies a few days later. And yeah its got rabies.

  • That 110 Hz growl is so obviously rabies. Too low and hoarse for any cheetah.

  • they never said it had rabies.

  • it actauly did in the movie cheetah orphans

  • But actually, the cat did have rabies. I saw the whole documentary on the BBC. Later the animal was seen falling about in it`s cage, and it died. The PM showed that it did indeed have rabies.

  • I hope they shot it?

  • Sad... For both him and the cheetah. Probably rabies is the ugliest disease someone can catch - the virus affects the brain that bad that the victim will attack anybody in his sight: the virus spreads itself this way. Simon King decided well when he did not let this affecting him, sadly this can happen with anybody in the woods. And it is not the animal's agressivity (Even foxes will bite if they get this virus. Someone even warned me that caving is dangerous because of probable rabid bats!).

  • They should have shot it there and then. If had rabies it was a danger to other animals and people.

  • 1:28 is a Cujo flashback

  • if yur messin wif it yur gonna gt bitten duh!!!!

  • WTF

  • Simon King is making a documentary obaut the 3 cheetahs that attaked Toki. He sayes there the biggest cheetahs he has ever seen and they hunt ADULT ZEBRAS and another bigger animal but he doesent say wich.

  • you don't know nothing. you have to watch from the beginning to understand. they're tryna find a mate for toki

  • I can't watch the first part, when toki and sambu were together,an at the end Simon the legend King says he's still alone living free or sumthn,it was very...well ya know, but when he revisted toki in the follow up program an he kept protecting and saving toki an now keeps him safe, puts me at ease to know he's alright out there.Simon king is he best.

  • Simon King is the best!!!

Cheetahs rock! She was just protecting herself... they usually don't attack but, it happens!

    SAVE THE CHEETAHS!

  • If you look further on the web, you can find the follow up to this. She actually had rabies, which, apparently, no one had heard of a case of a cheetah contracting. Just search 'Simon King' and/or 'rabies' 'attacked'. In-credible!!

  • Raposa, the cat had rabies, if you had watched the whole documentary you would have found that out. Watch it in it's entirety sometime ...

  • Cheetahs are the best

  • I cried twice when I watched this

  • Its been over a year, Have you stopped crying?

  • When I saw this on tv in the UK, before they mentioned anything about rabies I was thinking 'what the hell are you doing Simon? That cheetah is probably fearless because it has RABIES you idiot'. Ha, he should have known better, good thing no one was seriously hurt or contracted the disease.

  • They got vaccinated straight so they were alright. Unfortunately some of the locals, who live in the area, would not be so lucky, if they had been bitten or scratched by this rabid cheater. The animal probably got the disease from a domestic dog from a village in the area.

  • i saw this special. it was great

  • This was THE most beautiful show, heart breaking too, but this man is wonderful!! Thanks for posting this....
