  • fantastico!

  • I agree with reading the book. If it wasn't for seeing the interview on YouTube, I wouldn't have been motivated to buy the book.

  • bombaa

  • MEN NO HORSES

  • wow!...This film is an absolute torturous adrenaline ride, I think It's 1 of the most intense films ever made..a true heartbreaker!

  • Damn i got goosebumps starting @1:47...

Amazing stuff....this music just flows through your body..nothing like it...

  • Its funny how we can make a drug smuggeler into a hero.

  • @polarisathena he is a hero because he escaped turkish pigs.

  • @polarisathena he is ahero because he escaped from turkish pigs.

  • There are a few differances from the book;first of all,Bill never tried to run after going back to the bazzar, after his arrest, second, the film was made in Malta, third, the speach he gave before being sentenced to 30 years, was more of a plea, than an attack on the Turkish people,I could go on,and on......

  • An amazing movie, I own it on Blue-Ray:)...1978 when this was made, the same time when Halloween was made!

  • Man can't imagine what this guy went through when he was in the Turkish jail !

  • yea its fucked up that u go to jail in a country that u dont belong. no help from family and friends. no help from u.s government. u will be ALL alone and it will be every man for himself.

  • Lol how did the advocate handle the gun? he is hold his own hand! XD

  • Sorry, but this (4:18) is not hte right way to handle a gun! BTW, great film and great Moroder!

  • Where can I find the version playing at 1:00 ?

  • I remember that this song used to scare me. Don't know why.

  • lol. Stupid shit used to scare me too, it's ok. I used to be afraid of leaves...

  • Imagine being him running from a life no parole turkish sentence.

  • But at the time, i hadn't watched the movie, i think. XD

  • I feel the same about the Exorcist 0_0 -_-

  • And Exorcist's soundtrack is also very nice. Tubular Bells, by MIke Oldfield.

  • its fucked up

  • thx utub i nearly have forgotten this mesmerizing music existed. n thx shao 4 uploading.

  • The end of the movie is breathtaking

  • billy mays!!!!!!!!!!

  • Big Up's On Postin This.

  • magnifique cette vidéo

  • Fuck the Turks, but they got some extreme sexy bitches that'll blow your brain before they blow you away.

  • Legendmotorized - what are you Turkish?

  • you don't have to be a foreigner to criticize america, dud!!!

  • He is.

    He also eats turkeys.

  • Obviously, you have an inferiority complex. Get a life and learn to spell correctly.

  • It hasn't to do with americans..It has to do with fucking turks

  • Hollywood is American

So, they make stories from the American point of view

It can be said that there is no other film industry as huge as hollywood and everyone in the world watches hollywood movies

So, I don't see anything wrong

Perhaps, you shoot a film and you can show it from your point of view

  • I first heard this song as a youth watching WCW Wrestling. The Midniiiiiiiiight Expreeeeeessssss. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Classic Moroder track though.

  • Hey, this is the theme song for Coast to Coast AM, the radio program started as the "Art Bell Show" from Pahrump Nevada....The Art Bell Theme Song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's correct! I see we have a Coast to Coast AM aficionado here! George Noori is now the main man, and doing a fabulous job of it! I like the people filling in on the nights of Sunday to Monday, especially Raleigh James, i like her a lot! The Chase theme is my favorite of the Midnight Express Album! The movie is incredible, i saw it in 1978 when i was 20!

  • oh yeah i can see myself mixing this track with donna summer's i feel love it be so sweet

  • On 2:17, this guy just looks like Brad Pitt.. sorry its the other way round... Brad Pitt is just a photocopy of this guy... no wonder he got popular !

  • i don't see that

  • same here. i perfer girls from brazil then turks

  • Brad Davis was one of the best actors of his generation. Rest in peace. :(

  • This movie is one of a kind. One of my favorite movies of all time with one of the most memorable soundtracks of all time. The handsome actor Billy Davis was an heroin addict & contracted hiv & eventually died of Aids in the early 1990s. I always have a special place in my heart for this movie. They don't make movies like this anymore.

  • Actually, the name of the actor was Brad Davis who also had an acting part in 'The Chariots of Fire' among other movies! Too bad he died so young, at age 41, in 1991! He was born in 1949, but didn't make it to his 42nd birthday! So sad! He was a good actor, and indeed a handsome dude!

  • Great song..great movie, which is an absolutley true story. Billy Hayes is still alive today.

  • Billy is alive but the actor died of aids.

  • its really based on a true story?

  • @EAWingZeroGundam

Betcha ass its true - "Midnight Express" based on the book by the American student Billy (William) Hayes. He was arrested at Istanbul airport in 71 carrying a few kilos of hash, eventually got 25 years in jail (govt wanted to make an example) but escaped across the Greek border in 10/75.

  • wow!! one day i should watch it and what is hash. never heard of that drug

  • @EAWingZeroGundam

hash aka hashish. Its resin from marijuana (grass), made into a sticky brown substance. Concentrated and therefore easier to package. And stronger than grass. Its smoked through water pips or crumbled and mixed tobacco and rolled in cig paper.

  • thanks for the info

  • Yep! Although how he really escaped is so far fetched in the film . The book is an exceptional read.

  • yeah i might read the book one day. u can see a interview of billy hayes in youtube. i seen it and got inspried

  • i've never seen this movie before, but it must be a very interessting one. i love this sound from gorgio moroder!!!

  • same here. the song is so addicting

  • i found out about this song in GTA. Great song!

  • Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for that video i have been looking for for a long time! The music is astoundingly beautiful! I remember watching that movie in 1978, i was twenty years old, the age of that fool who thought he could smuggle drug out of Turkey! What was he thinking? Great movie! Hauntingly great music! Again, thank you!

  • It's brilliant, and I couldn't have said it better.

  • great film and great song.

  • yes, indeed !!!!!!!!!

  • oh yes!

this is a very cool film.
