This movie is one of a kind. One of my favorite movies of all time with one of the most memorable soundtracks of all time. The handsome actor Billy Davis was an heroin addict & contracted hiv & eventually died of Aids in the early 1990s. I always have a special place in my heart for this movie. They don't make movies like this anymore.

Actually, the name of the actor was Brad Davis who also had an acting part in 'The Chariots of Fire' among other movies! Too bad he died so young, at age 41, in 1991! He was born in 1949, but didn't make it to his 42nd birthday! So sad! He was a good actor, and indeed a handsome dude!

Betcha ass its true - "Midnight Express" based on the book by the American student Billy (William) Hayes. He was arrested at Istanbul airport in 71 carrying a few kilos of hash, eventually got 25 years in jail (govt wanted to make an example) but escaped across the Greek border in 10/75.
