I wouldnt say WoW has a long lasting gameplay. You can get to end game content in less then a month (Providing you dont go to school or work etc) But I agree, both are great games in their respect.

Both games are good and have quality artwork. However, EQ2 graphics are more along the lines of 3d modeling characters while WOW is more cartoon artwork style. You need the right video card to get the correct textures and effects in EQ2 to see their famous quality. I use an Nvidia 8800GT with 512 megs ram and I can see 3D rendering quality that just isn't there in WOW. You can see more of that 3D look I'm talking about by typing "Everquest 2 gameplay" in the search.
The graphics look bad because the person has their settings on "Very High Performance" because they don't have a system with enough prowess to even run it at balanced...either that or they were trying to make the video smaller size so they reduced the quality..at any rate I like EQ2..bad graphics or not they have a lot nicer people there. I'm not bashing WoW just stating simple fact.
EQ2's graphics on Extreme Quality rivals any game on the market, i dont even know what you mean by "random shit", theres 80 levels, hmm thats 10 more than wow, and on a lvl 80 you will have about 4-6 hotbars containing 10 spells / abilities per bar, do the math smart stuff
EQ2 on Extreme does not rival Age of Conan graphically. I run both and the textures in Conan are far better. The engine also runs more efficiently in Conan but it is a much newer game after all. I like them both.
You realize that EQ2 still runs on Shader Model 1.0 technology, right? Wait until they release the Shader Model 3.0 update. Conan will look like a cartoon compared to EQ2. :)

Yes Paladins can heal but in a group or raid situation aren't much in demand because full-on healer classes heal better, and the general opinion is that Berserkers and Guardians tank better. If you want to play a healer don't roll a Paladin, roll a healer! Want something that can heal and nuke? Roll a Fury :)

It worked for me. You can try deleating the file, and when you go to redownload it, make sure you press open not save. Then, open the file and install. =) Hope I helped. You might also not have enough memory. The trial needs a lot of memory, make sure you deleat any uneeded programs regularly.
i used to play WoW all the time until i tried this game out, and i got addicted so easily, why i think its so much better than wow is because it requires alot more patience in the beginning, whereas wow all u do is a constant grindfest...so all the little kids get frustrated easily by this game because it requires patience, therefore this game has a more mature community, no one begging for money or help with simple things, everyone does stuff themselves...less imature conversations as well

Maybe you should turn up the graphics on your PC. WoW has spell animation of leaves and flowers... so does that make WoW suck ? No. It just means some players are likely to post ignorant comments about another game because they cannot take critism of the game they play (which is sad).
I play EQ and WoW, I enjoy both. But they are different type of games. WoW is easy and fun for messing around when I have little time, EQ I play when I have more time as its more involved and skill based.
If you want easy a easy game, easy epics for little work WoW is for you.

WoW is the most popular because it's easy. With WoW you have both hardcore and casual players on it. With EQ and EQ2, you can't really succeed unless you're .. good. You have to have skill or persistence to do anything. In WoW, .. you don't really have to do much of anything.

You tube quality makes this game look like crap. I played trial and the dragons look a hundred times better than you see here. Yea they do look cheap here but once you play it it looks awsome.
First EQ came out in 1999, EQ2 came out in 2004, WoW didnt come out until late 2005 or early 2006... How the hell did it copy? If anything WoW copied a lot of aspects from EQ and EQ2.
I've played EQ for 7 years, WoW for about a year and now EQ2 for a few weeks. IMO they're all good since they have different aspects of game play that make them pretty fun.
In response to those people who keep bringing up the graphics comparison between WoW and EQ2, EQ definately has the edge, but WoW was never meant to compete with it on that level. WoW has graphics which are stylized and work very well for the game even if they're not that sophisticated.

Eq2 is not dead at all. There is all armor types and the game looks amazing on high quality settings. This guys computer can't run it, but any newer computer will fine.

does any1 experience the same? when u attk mob with normal default attk it dont have sound of impact it only sound of weap swing like wo0o0osh and wo0ot. no sound of hitting the mob. like you hitting the air. 96% no sound of hitting the mob and 4% it have. also it has hp bar delay like when u attack mob the mob hp dont go down right away it takes about 1.5sec to go down.

The only reason the graphics suck is because the people have them turned down a lot. EQ2 is a memory whore so you really need the 2 gigs + decent video card for them to look nice. Also for you to run Fraps, you have to tone down the graphics for almost any game since it kills your fps while running it.
i play WoW and i love it but i decided to try the trial of this game. whenever i go to play it, it has to download updates or somthing and its been doing that for 2 days. like wth.. whats taking so long? i have a good computer but the estmated time on the updates keeps going up. any ideas anyone?

WoW was only smart in the sense that cartoony graphics tend to not look dated over time. But in technicallity EQ2 is a far more in depth game, with alot more to do, better endgame, and graphics.
This looks exactly like WoW. Even the UI looks vaguely familiar. Oh, and I can't STAND the cartoon graphics of WoW. I think it's what I hate most about the game, even though I play it myself.

paladins can heal a bit(I believe they get 3 or 4 heals), but their main role is a defensive tank(they are rad)
there are jobs you can take such as armorer and weaponsmith (not at the same time), but there are 9 proffessions i believe

I play both, but I have to say, WoW is a little bit more fun, even if Eq2 is more mature. I'll agree with you on that, Eq2 has way more mature community the WoW does...

im starting eq2, eveyrone says wow is better, but the truth is, they are going to make so ytou can buy the best armor for badges you get in instances, so maybe in one week you can get a part from a set that is the best armor in wow. They make it easier and easier. it sucks! Eq2 roxxxxxxxxx

wtf are you talking about? badge items are nice but they are far from the best in the game. truth is, the "best" items in the game only drop from high level raid instances. and it can take a while before your gear is good enough to run those.

Maybe you should turn up the graphics on your PC. WoW has spell animation of leaves and flowers... so does that make WoW suck ? No. It just means some players are likely to post ignorant comments about another game because they cannot take critism of the game they play (which is sad).
I play EQ and WoW, I enjoy both. But they are different type of games. WoW is easy and fun for messing around when I have little time, EQ I play when I have more time as its more involved and skill based.

If you want to work and put effort into it EQ is for you -
Different target groups some people like to work and feel they earned their gear and items (EQ players) some think they are owed them just for logging on (WoW Players)...

i myself am a WoW player, but am happy to admit the game lacks something, as in atmosphere. Its a good game, but I dont see the point in the whole childish, mines better than yours kind of argument.Both games are good, but I'm probably moving on to EQ2

Boring... Dude I went from EQ2 to WoW and GREATLY regretted it. Shitty repatative Gameplay, not so great graphics. Races suck, classes suck. And too many fucking 10 year olds, or 50 year olds. EQ2 ranges from fun 16 year old people aswell as 20 year olds - 35 year olds. Sure you'd have very few 10 year olds. Because the game isnt so fuckign childish, it's Unique!

WoW is the most popular because it's easy. With WoW you have both hardcore and casual players on it. With EQ and EQ2, you can't really succeed unless you're .. good. You have to have skill or persistence to do anything. In WoW, .. you don't really have to do much of anything.

First EQ came out in 1999, EQ2 came out in 2004, WoW didnt come out until late 2005 or early 2006... How the hell did it copy? If anything WoW copied a lot of aspects from EQ and EQ2.

In response to those people who keep bringing up the graphics comparison between WoW and EQ2, EQ definately has the edge, but WoW was never meant to compete with it on that level. WoW has graphics which are stylized and work very well for the game even if they're not that sophisticated.
Gameplay first, then graphics. In terms of gameplay I prefer WoW. no contest.

Eq2 is not dead at all. There is all armor types and the game looks amazing on high quality settings. This guys computer can't run it, but any newer computer will fine.

yah you get all kinds of plat armor i think they have a monk tank which uses leather an dhas a hi dodge rate. and i think the player that is being taped is a Druid not sure if its a f ury or warden

Especially considering most of the content in EQ2 formed the base of WoW.
I've just ditched WoW and recieved EQ2 today, i'm patching it now.
Something i've already noticed from just reading the manual is the gnome race, they speak gnommish, in WoW it's the exact same language...

I used to play this game, it was exellent up until they made everything have to be attuned to your character. I quit the next day. Idk... Sony seems to be good at nerfing the hell out of there games, look at their Star Wars MMO

does any1 experience the same? when u attk mob with normal default attk it dont have sound of impact it only sound of weap swing like wo0o0osh and wo0ot. no sound of hitting the mob. like you hitting the air. 96% no sound of hitting the mob and 4% it have. also it has hp bar delay like when u attack mob the mob hp dont go down right away it takes about 1.5sec to go down.
even if ur in USA u still have this problem who experience the same? what is it cause by?

The only reason the graphics suck is because the people have them turned down a lot. EQ2 is a memory whore so you really need the 2 gigs + decent video card for them to look nice. Also for you to run Fraps, you have to tone down the graphics for almost any game since it kills your fps while running it.

i play WoW and i love it but i decided to try the trial of this game. whenever i go to play it, it has to download updates or somthing and its been doing that for 2 days. like wth.. whats taking so long? i have a good computer but the estmated time on the updates keeps going up. any ideas anyone?

i play wow religiously, but i know my shit basically, i have played EQ2 and although i really enjoyed it i already have myself set up on my wow characters and have a lot to do on there with my mates, frankly...wow is just a dumbed down version of EQ2 and EQ2 is far superior in many ways, but wow is like crack...bloody addictive

WoW was only smart in the sense that cartoony graphics tend to not look dated over time. But in technicallity EQ2 is a far more in depth game, with alot more to do, better endgame, and graphics.

I don't play EQ, but I don't say in the least bit does it even LOOK like it sucks. The graphics are much better and more realistic than WoW. Myself, I am a WoW player and it is a bit cartoonish and is more for beginner MMORPGers. Then again, it is supposed to be cartoonish.. durr.
