SHORTCUT: Go through all 100 combos by choosing a 1st # and then going through the ten 2nd #s, starting with the 2nd # that closest to and higher than the 1st #. You can then spin between the 2nd and 3rd numbers w/o having to "reset" each time.
e.g. Using the example numbers in the video, for 1st # 16, you would:
Awesome, it worked! (Once I found the proper starting digits. Alignment was a little "off" but once I found the right starting combo, on the third time, it worked like a charm). THANK YOU!!!!!
Holy shit this actually worked. I had a remainder of 0, like him, and my first two numbers ended up being ones that were listed. I kinda remembered what my combination was like, so that helped shorten the time of opening it.
To ease up the step where you add 4 till you reach the last number possible you can just check which is the highest number that divides by four and add the difference on top.
@Chessmaster777 You probably did some that should've been .5 and a whole number, and some whole numbers that should've been .5. I did that for a few of them, but I double checked and found out where I messed up. This method worked for me perfectly. It might not worked on all locks though, probably just the generic masterlock, like the person in this video has. That's the same one I have.
i keep repeating the steps till its time to divide the standout number by 4 but i keep getting the same numbers and the same decimal what did i do wrong? or can we get a decimal?
I initially came up with 4,14,17,34,37, so I didn't have the "4 numbers end the same, with one oddball number." I had 3 that ended in 4, and 2 that ended in 7. Still worked though. Got the combo in about 10 tries. Thanks! (Note: I had to go back and carefully check my numbers so I ended up with the 7 that ended in .5)
I just pulled my tree stand from a tree. It was up for 9 years and I lost the combo for my master lock that locked it to the tree. This worked perfect. Hit it on the 90th combination. 37-3-37
what happens if you have a remainder of 2? how can i get the 2nd set of numbers?? my combo was 1.25 should I just round it up to 3 and do what you did?
WOW!!! This really works. Listen carefully before trying. I reversed the nubmer combinations for the first and second numbers, so had to try 200 times in total. Once I figured out my mistake, my combination was 89 in from the start (murphys law). Still pleased.
my little brother got this blue master lock but it didn't come with instructions because it came from a friend and he was like i don't care if there is no code. so now i'm gonna get the code
@zob314 Okay - now eliminate all numbers that contain a decimal value. This leaves: 6,16,19,29, 39. They say all but one should have the same last value. So, I haven't helped you at all. Sorry. Hey, I had six numbers left and 3 had a 1 on the end and 3 had a 4. Mine didn't work either.
This is the same person as Crunk1337. I was able to crack the lock! Awesome helpful tip. Just so you know, the bastard number is always the thrid number, even if it ends up being a x.5 number. In my case, the number was 33.
I have a 8000xxx, but this method was way off. I had to take it apart to find the combo. My last # is 33, but trying this method, I got 16 (3,13,16,23,33) as the 3rd! I guess this doesn't always work! My 1st and 2nd #'s were odd. So for those who couldn't get it to work, you have to take the back plate and line up the mechanisms. Maybe I have a newer model padlock...I wasted an hour trying this!
The sphero lock is constructed in such a way that the inner locking mechanism does not "register" the bumps or teeth of the inner wheels. Even if you pull the U part, or shackle, the numbers are faintly registered and often jump two or three numbers at at time. Sphero also tends to "eat" aluminum shims, as the inner part that locks the shackle into place is constructed in such a way that, when the shim is turned it tears.
@alphakid42 thats right my friend...I just cracked a lock that was in lost and found...it was the second combo on the list...what a thrill when it opened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! took awhile tho...
"it will only take 100 tries". damn my parents lock their closest with weed with two of these locks so in hopefully two days or less i can get my shit back.
hi i could you please tell me to do to know the key to a Master Lock padlock is not English I'm doing this through a trductor please await your response on my channel if you can
bahaha i didnt have to do the math and crap mine was the same as him but then my first try i got it open cuz im like well 1st isnt a 0 so 4 2 20 and got it
sometimes doesnt work dude. Tested this to 3 of my locks, one of them's numbers were 1.5 4.5 8 11.5 14.5 18 21.5 24.5 28 31.5 34.5 38 No extra numbers, i triple checked. Combo is 14, 21, 37.....wtf. It is my newest master lock if that makes any difference, but it looks just like the one you have in this vid.....
After having trouble getting the lock oriented right, and not getting numbers, I eventually got the exact same numbers as you. So I thought it was a hoax. I proceeded to annoyingly do all of the combinations, though, after I understood what I needed to do. And after fifteen minutes... OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY WORKED. I have my combination. Thanks so much, and I never believed this would actually work.
I had a lock that i couldn't remember the combo to. So, I said "Hey, what the hell. I've got an hour to kill..." I didn't believe this would work at all! Until...
Oddly enough, I had the exact same string of numbers as in the video. Last number should be 20. That didn't ring a bell, so I kept going. Divide by 4, generate strings of numbers and start trying. Combination number 73 and the lock popped! Made me a believer!
can someone explain how i did this, my parents told me i opened a lock less than a second when i was a toddler, if a toddler opens a lock with no problem means to you have to be a super smart to figure out the combination, its bugging the hell out of me, cause i cant find my inner knowledge, btw dont believe me, i get into everything..i open a door to run outside, open the fridge, climb like im tomb raider, am i supposed to feel special....true story, some stuff like get into stuff are on video
@MrAnnoyingFreak Opening the lock could of been by pure luck xD ...I remember when I was young and my mom was helping my brother with his homework. He didn't know the answer and I just yelled some random number and I was right. He was like grade 5 or 4 and I was grade 1...I remember that night if like it was yesterday...Sadly I don't remember what number I yelled though rofl.
i got 12 numbers but only 1, 4, 14, 31, and 34, were whole number i did this several time and the same numbers popped up so what do i have to do in this situation.....
THANK YOU! I just did it with 5 old licks I had in a drawer about to be thrown out. It worked with every single one! Now I have writen the combinations down each on a separate piece of paper and tape it to the corresponding lock for future use.
I have only tried this on 1 lock. It DIDN'T really work.
Firstly I had 6 whole #s. So unable to figure out.
#10 had the MOST amout of play and did turn out to be the last #. And doing the math does not give me the correct Numbers. 17,20,with known #10.
I had to ruin the lock by grinding back plate off. I did however figure out a method of visual means after opening a lock with a shim and figuring out how it works.
(con't) have mentioned in reference to locks with certain serial #'s (800xxx I think) but you can't obtain the other two numbers using this method, especially the 20. But 11 is in the series of 3,7,11,15... that is used to figure out the 2nd number & some people have said that with the 800xxx locks, the 1st and 2nd #'s are switched. So maybe Master Lock has changed the way they create their combinations for certain new locks?
I wanted to try this with 2 old locks that I have but couldn't find them so I bought a new one just to try it. It has no serial # on the back. Result = FAIL. I got 12 #s, 7 of which ended in .5. I used the "odd #" from the remaining 5 & went through the remaining steps. Didn't work. I looked at the actual combo and it is 11 20 05. Yes, it has both odd and even #'s and yes, it IS a Master Lock. The last # (5) WAS the # in the list of 5 that had the most "give" as some people (con't)
wow amazing this magic is like crazy. it made me get it on the first possible combination!

for part 3, what if you have a remainder of 2??
Aerroga 1 year ago
This can't work on mine. I was able to get 39,29,19,9 and can't find the 5th number. Each one is averaged between .5
I was also able to come up with 12 numbers. GAHHHHHH

So maybe Master Lock has changed the way they create their combinations for certain new locks?
alder128 1 year ago
I wanted to try this with 2 old locks that I have but couldn't find them so I bought a new one just to try it. It has no serial # on the back. Result = FAIL. I got 12 #s, 7 of which ended in .5. I used the "odd #" from the remaining 5 & went through the remaining steps. Didn't work. I looked at the actual combo and it is 11 20 05. Yes, it has both odd and even #'s and yes, it IS a Master Lock. The last # (5) WAS the # in the list of 5 that had the most "give" as some people (con't)

If your lock has a serial code that is above 800*** (I think that is it) then the
-first number that stands out is the first combo number (C1)
-(C1) / 4, take remainder and add 4 to it, all those numbers are possible third combo numbers (C3)
-(C1) / 4, take remainder and add/subtract 2 from it appropriately, then add 4, all those numbers are possible second numbers (C2)
I tried it with my lock, serial number 903336, and the first number i got was 18, and on my combo that is the first number
