@otacon23 Or he was just really nervous. The cool thing about lie to me is that it's right in the name. They're lying to you about the ability to detect lies. It's as realistic as CSI if not worse.

There are only two groups of people who are good at lie detection...Prison inmates and Secret Service agents. Those are the only groups who have been able to detect lies under test conditions and have done better than chance. Even the polygraph is 80% and a smart person can fool it in a heartbeat.

@Kruezoraxe Actually, the guy that the character in Lie to Me is based on (Paul Ekman) has taught the FBI and Secret Service many of the techniques which they now use. He's been doing this research for several decades. The problem is people like the other person to whom you're responding watching one episode of the show and trying to apply the techniques.
