  • this sounds like a shout from skyrim SOH CAH TOA!!!!!!

  • i want to hug you

  • when my teacher was teaching how to memorize trig. functions. she told me to try to remember this, soh-cah-toa=some old hippie-caught another hippie-trippin on acid, and it helped me remember it so i thought this would help somebody remember

  • love your vids dude i am in 8th grade and i needed help on my geometry thanks

  • if only I saw thing before the test..

  • Trig is goddam easy.

    This makes it easier.

  • Hi ms card I just soiled my pants

    - Jackson

  • teachers should just stick this on

  • bloody legend and such a help

  • I had geometry in my freshmen year -.-

But I'm doing this in physics

  • Awesome trig is awesome n you are awesome

  • It's really so much better to learn as a sophomore.

  • thats a hot video

  • im a softmore in high school and it is very ez i wonder y they dont show it sooner!!!

and im in geometry and that also ez !!!! hehehe im smart!!! hell yea!!!

  • Hey trigonometry is like.......doing math isn't it ?

I even figured out how tall my wife is by using trigonometry!

  • how did you figure out the hyp? or get the formula (sq rt) for the hyp?

  • @fpj1030

    Pythagorean Theorem ------> a^2 + b^2 = c^2

    5^2 = 25

    6^2 = 36

    25 + 36 = 61

61 = c^2 You must find the square root of C^2 which would be a decimal and not fun to work with...

  • You need to write a lot more legible. You can't tell your six from a b.

  • @yw10131 he never uses the letter b...

  • I malfunction sometimes lol that was funny.

  • Awesome! I didn't know a single thing about this (havn't learnt it in school yet) and I think I can sleep in the future lessons. :D:D You're an awesome teacher. I'm subbing so I can use your lessons as revision next time.

  • you saved my life, i love you sal

  • very very helpful. thankkkkk you teacher. i was hating trigonometry before this but now it's seems very intresting like a game. thank you again

  • I should have taken Trig in 1970. You make it so easy - at least the first three lessons are. SOH CAH TOA!!! Auto-correct did NOT like that...

  • It's true what he has said in his pervious' videos'.... Trigonometery is the easiest thing in maths; that is what i think any way. All you need is that SOH-CAH-TOA, and you have everything. But, you just need to understand what to do with the SOH-CAH-TOA, that's is when you will understand it.

  • Best of the best professor! Thank you

  • :D

  • I m Software engineer learning trig again for game programming.. and this guy is awesome... Wish I had youtube back in my school days :(.. Keep up ur gud work..

  • Very Nice! You are a great teacher, easy and fun!

  • WHERES THE NEXT PART :(

  • your teh best teacher evar.

  • see if someone would have told me what the hell this stuff was used for in school, i would have fucking listened! architecture, astronomy, robots and what not is awsome. I feel treated unfairly just because i was questioning the use of meaningless blabber to me, and forced to cheat and wonder.

  • @ukijhu97 I think they should invent a new subject called association and connection in elementary schools, were you learn to apply different skills to different daily life activities and jobs.

  • @ukijhu97 Hahah i agree, I left school after (High school Secondary school), Now I'm 24yrs old, and I'm going to take a College Entrance Exam, to hopefully get into a specialised course that will allow me to get my Masters after 5 years in Comp Science....NOW I wish my teacher told me how important this stuff was =P

  • Wow I'm going to be taking Calculus next year and skipping Pre Calc and I can just learn it all here easily! This is amazing keep the videos coming this is my first time subscribing in a longggggg time!

  • how do you find the lengths of the sides

  • Why do you multiply them both by the square root of 61 and then divide by 61?

  • @MissBeautyObsessed its a law in math. you cant hav a square root in the denominator. i forgot wat its called but thers lke 2 more laws to it. hope this helped

  • my old teacher just looked at me wierd like i was a craizt voodoo man when trying to explain this to him :p

  • the 9 people that dislike this are HoBos living on a taxi

  • Thanks to you, there is help for me. You totally made this easy for me to understand. You rock!

  • Bro, you got me a 97 on my test. I watched this like an hour before I took it and before this video I was lost. Thank you

  • @Z3blast ur a fucking liar

  • i can learn math from this vids more easier than in school, thx mate

  • im in middle school and i understood this perfectly

  • u make math fun become a teacher!!!

  • FUCKING MIRACLES, MAN! I LOVE YOU.

  • Sex On Hard Concrete Always Hurts Try Other Alternatives

  • @QbnVoiCe Sex On Hard Concrete Always Hurts The Orgasmic Areas.

  • thank yu

  • Noooo! Dont use messy numbers!! KISS

  • Soh Cah Toa is just Soak-a-Toe-a.

  • Why does he use the square root sign over the numbers 36 and 25 when in the end he gets rid of it anyways giving it the more simple looking 36+25 =61 instead of the square root of 61. it seems that since he says that people do not like the irrational numbers as a denominator wouldn't getting rid of the square root in the beginning just eliminate the irritation in the first place? So I guess what I am trying to say is what is the use of that square root sign in the beginning if it still has the

  • @gforceram same value underneath the sign in the end when the sign is taken off. It seems as though there was no need for it in the first place if the value underneath the sign stayed the same the entire time?

  • thx ur the best i actually understdand ur video best among all the others i did thx alot GOd bless you

  • if you dont want to use an irrational denominator, why dont you just call it 5 over 7.8 instead of five square roots of 61 over 61? is it wrong to write it like that, or just preference?

  • @GISMCONFUSE 7.8 isn't as accurate as sqrt(61). When it comes to real-world applications, accuracy is key.

  • wow.. it helps me a lot... thank you...

  • hey guys, he's better than my FOUR teachers!:D not one

  • dude ur much better than my teacher seriously

  • 1day missed in precal = 5 min on utube lol

  • thnk u very much.. i forgot 2 take down notes lolz.....really helpful!

  • thannkkkk you! I think I may now pass my test! Your a better teacher than my actual teacher!

  • Omy..i think i have a little knowledge now on trigo..its gonna be my first time to encounter this im already gr.10 and were just starting to learn this..

  • man Sal, u r the modern day Ghandi, the mother theresa or should I say father theresa of education, I've taken these classes many times and never picked up as much as I did listening to ur videos just once, god bless u man, I hope ur still around when my kids and grand kids and the ones after that so they could benefit as much as I have from ur lessons.

  • :D i m a school boy again

  • "oh look how big that is."... thats what she said. lol

  • I LOVE YOU! <3

  • sorry why did you square the hypotenuse..

  • @Laylie91 same as using a^2= b^2 + c^2

  • @Laylie91 because it is considered irrational..

  • @Laylie91 Because when your finding the Hypotenuse you use A*A+B*B=C*C then you'd have to square it to make it smaller (Geometry)

  • Thanks man i got an exam tomorrow and that realy helped :)

  • o look how big that is << lool

  • got a 85 on my test wit tthis lolz , considering i hate my teacher and it was a POP quiz =D

  • thanks a lot for uploading your trig videos im sure this will help in my test tomorrow :d

  • thankyou this was very helpful p.s you really like beta dont you

  • Im a freshman in HS trying to learn this stuff before AP Trig.. Do these concepts only apply to right triangles?

  • Thanks, this was very helpful.

  • I was so confused with this subject but by the second part of this video I was saying the answers aloud before you were! Thank you so much!

  • Great help with trig

  • :D !!!

  • @gunnsalex think.. take the square root of 5 and it is 25.. take the square root of 6 and it is 36.. then take the two of them and add them both to get the hyp.. hypotenuse being the square root of 61.. in the example.. right? :o)

  • where did you get the squareroot36+25 + squareroot61

  • @vlad220 pythagorean theorum

length(hypoteneuse) = square root of (side one squared + side two squared)

it's hard to type the equation but ya

  • @vlad220 a^2 + b^2 = c^2

    so a= 6 and b = 5

    so 6 square = 36 and 5 square = 25

so then 36+25= 61 and you squareroot them all

  • so freaking simple i got an A in my exam

  • thankyou, great explantions.

  • I don't understand any of it... what exactly is the question/problem I have to solve?

I just am hearing and seeing a bunch of stuff about soh cah toa being written without any simple explanations or definitions..

  • Check out his Basic Trigonometry I video (part one)

  • ok n/m i get it

  • i thougt it was a squared + c squared = c squared, not the sqaure root?

  • I have 2 midterms in the morning with Trig (its 12:36am right now) And these vids are seriously helping me learn this stuff. If only I had found these vids sooner...THNX!!!

  • I wish I found your video sooner :-(

  • this is really helpful thanks heaps. I will pass my exams because of you.

  • thankyou, you help me alot i just started this in math class

  • soh cah toa,

this gave me flashbacks of my math A-Level classes. I'm just getting into game development and wanted to brush up on trig. These vids are really good.

  • THANKS SO MUCH ;_;

  • sqrt(61) is about 7.81, in case you like your examples a little more concrete.

  • thanks

  • THANKS!!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Thank you! it was very helpful I have to learn this by tomorrow so quick save thanks XD

  • you are very helpful

    thank you friend!

  • where do i need to continue after i watch this video i wann learn more about the trigonometry

  • I think you go to "radians and degrees."

  • lol 0:55 i malfunction sometimes

thanks alot this really helped alot!

I'm sure there is more! :D

  • this really helped a middle schooler like me becuz the teachers make it to difficult to understand

  • I see the whole world opening up before me.

  • i remember it like this.

    some old hippy

    caught another hippy

    tripping on acid

    :D

  • @toast339 Badass. I like yours better.

  • Funny & makes this so simple xD helped me so much, thank you thank you!! <3

  • lol 4:25 OOOOH, LOOK HOW BIG THAT IS.

  • Thank you so much im a sophomore at my school and everyone made talk about how hard trigonometry is but you really know how to break things down and make them seem really easy and im sure when i take this course my senior year ill already be ahead of the game. Thanks alot

  • This is such a help! Thank you very much. What would be great is if you made another video about trigonometry and instead of giving all the answers for what each side is, you leave some as x. Then you can use trigonometry to figure out what they equal? In class we are given questions when the angle and two sides are given. Then, using those two sides we decide to use Sin Cos or Tan to figure it out.

  • LOL, I wish YouTube was around in 1993.

  • My Lord. You have seriously. now i mean SERIOUSLY inspired me to mager in Math,,,,,

  • With spelling of the word major like "mager" we know it wont be English anyway.

    Math=Win

  • haha buddy. u jus' got pwnd xP

  • I just loved the way that you take time to teach and repeat important things many time. It helps in memorizing key points. I also like when you explained what value hypetenuse shall have in this video. I wasn't aware of that. Many videos don't bother to explain them. They assume the viewer is already aware about basic but there are many who like me are catching up math in adulthood and have to struggle with basic concepts.

  • math is a great subject, I regret screwing it up in high school...now I have to learn all this as an adult

  • Same man, I have the internet to thank for me being able to catch up. (Especially Sal, a true modern day saint when it comes to dedicating time to helping others).

  • yea wish youtube were around back in 2003 heh

  • because of you, math is my friend.

  • tathatus3 is right. some teachers voices suck. yours awesome. kinda makes me wanna learn in a non homosexual fashion. if your not a teacher i dont know whats stopping you. awesome videos

  • These were so incredibly helpful. You literally saved me from crashing and burning in physics class. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH.

  • great explanation...sexy voice

  • Awesome videos. Very clear explanations. I'm only in Grade 10, and we plan to be learning a bit of Trig. at the end of the semester, but now I pretty much know everything I need.

Thanks a lot, I actually know how to put these new-found skills to use myself.

  • thank you soooo much for these two videos. I was about to drop my pre-calc course because I didn't understand sin/cos/tan.. in 14 minutes you've done what my professor couldn't do in 4 classes. thanks.

  • Hi. I'm in year eleven and recently we're going over trigonometry and I just searched up trigonometry on youtube to see what comes up and I saw this. These 2 videos were REALLY GOOD, it refreshed my memory really well and I want to thankyou. For some reason I want to learn listening to your voice LOL, better then my maths teacher. BTW I don't get how you can be bothered to do this? It's not like your being paid? Anywayz thankyou very much. Now I'm going to look at your other videos. =)

  • Yea its like saying the square root of 36 times itself, which is 6*6 = 36

  • I have an exam tomoz on this. I still don't fully understand it! Im in year 10. OMG
