Star Trek advantages: Shields, photon & quantum torpedoes and impulse weapons.

B5 advantages: Jump Points, heavier armor and exotic particle beam weapons.

In a straight up fight I'd say that Trek has the tech advantage but not decisively so. B5 definitely has the advantage in established space battle tactics, hitting from multiple angles and not flying around like they are limited to two dimensions of movement.

b5 has no chance against ds9 and the only race that could stand up to the Federation are the minbari and even then they have no shelds so sort it out star trek all the way but dont think i hate b5 i think its better then star trek but star trek has the better tec

Sizes were off true about b5 though she was up graded. And the b5 ship were more manuvable as they could skin dance.

I think a Minbari cruiser would win from a Federation starship. A Centauri ship, not sure actually, perhaps they are about the same strength. Human ships from B5, are definitely weaker then the Federation starships. The B5 station wasn´t really built for a war, it wouldn´t have made a chance against the DS9 station.

none of that was right (guy way over estimated b 5 tech) but seriouslty vorchans have shredded vorlorn tech amped minbari ships and i think at the height of centauri power (some four centuries ago) the minbari where afraid of fighting them-they i think felt they;d loose because the tech gap wasn't so big and the centauri had a way way bigger industry so it makes sense a primus would do more damage then a sharlin-centauri weaponry is potent as hell

Great. B5 kicks butt! But I don't think that a Centauri warship could do that to an Excalibur Class Starship in one shot. Now, if they were First Ones. Then it would just be a slaughter!

This vid is a piece of crap. The shields in ST are 1,000 times better than B5. So are the weapons...Photon Torpedoes, Quantum Torpedoes, Normal phasers, and Quantum phasers, not to mention the new era tech after the last ST:TNG movie...someone is biased towards ST....THE B5 aliens are badass's I give you that. But nothing compared to Starfleet.

i like both series, i think the Sovenign was taken out to easier as its a ship designed to without shields as is the defiant ultimately i think that star trek would but the cost would be huge

While the station would and should be defeated by an armada of enemy ships, it would exact a heavy toll on the enemy fleet alone, and if supported by a defending armada that would likely tip the scale. Since it was in a border zone it was refitted to a battlestation.

In B5 while the station did have weapons, it was largely dependent on its support fleet and fighters(which I saw little of). Would have liked to see a fighter swarm in the fight from the station.

Was a cool video and one of the most fair out of the series I saw lol. Very much one sided on B5. Lots of errors in their knowledge of Startrek ships. I am a fan of both I hate to see the clear bias where startrek ships get just smoked by B5 ships.

I wonder if the person who made this video knows that the Federation Station Deep Space Nine has 48+ Photon Torpedo Launchers, and over 84 phaser banks. In this video they made the station's shields a non issue (it has powerful shields) and unarmed.

If you'll regard MrDialup's comment, you'll find yourself mistaken, Arcthoudor. One, Babylon 5 takes place before Star Trek, so it's only logical their tech is inferior. I know Babylon 5 ships are big, but size ain't everything. Narn/Centauri/Earthforce/Minba­ri ships don't even have shields! Neither does the Babylon 5 space station. Seeing as the ace Minbari cruiser Black Star was destroyed by only two nukes, a good spread of photon torpedoes should take care of most ships in B5.

Babylon 5 uses something a lot less homosexual than magic unexplainable shields. Like... armor, which Star Trek dosen't even bother with. And the centauri and minbari do have forms of shielding such as tractor beams and gravitic technology.

The Minbari cruiser was destroyed with two powerful FUSION bombs that have way more power than a usual *nuke* before it could power up it's defenses.

Photon torpedoes are as slow as fuck and are practically the easiest things to shoot down.

If I don't know much about B5, you don't know much about Star Trek. You can't really 'shoot down' a photon torpedo, and who says they're slow?

Besides, Star Trek ships are way more manuverable than those B5 giants. A Defiant class ship or even a Sovereign would fly circles around a Sharlin cruiser. And even though fusion bombs are powerful, a Galaxy class ship carries 275 photon torpedoes, enough to equal just two fusion bombs.

Starfleet would have thrashed B5.

Note that a small fleet of romulan (roughly equal with starfleet) and cardassian (weak compared with starfleet) ships destroyed 30% of a planet's crust in one volley. Compare this to the pitiful level of damage the Narn/Drazi fleet did to Centauri Prime.

Having said that, you do have to respect the work that went into this animation. Especially as it has been around for ages...

I don't recollect a Narn/Drazi fleet firing on Centauri prime, so I call bullshit for the time being.

You also forget the fact that the Centauri leveled Narn's entire surface with a few shots from their mass drivers.

Centauri Prime was bombed twice in Babylon 5. Once in season 5 by Narns, Drazi and some other species. And once in season 3 with double of war without a end episode in the end of the reign of Emperor Londo Mollari
