Takaratomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-09 Rodimus Convoy Review 1

I'm gonna go out and say that from your past reviews,this figure has the "Zerokage Bakuryu Syndrome". Basically it is when a toy company that is HIGHLY respected like Takara and Chogokin give us a VERY expensive product(easily going for $150-250)and instead of getting our money's worth,they half-ass it completely. My Bakuryu's mid piece for the transformation broke,the REALLY tricky one,and I'm trying to find a permanent solution for it but yeah. A lot of companies are really getting lazy.

@Xephon0930 With the increasing complexity of toys, it is more difficult to create a toy that is close to perfection. And definitely the standard for quality check should be higher now, which is unfortunately not adhered to strictly because of rush jobs to launch the toy by a specific date, or simply not paying enough attention to the assembly and end product.

Im planning to buy this at this comming sunday may i ask which part has die cast? or its just good plastic... is it worth the price cause here in my country it cost 15,000 Pesos...

@emogoth22 Only the 2 feet are diecast. No other diecast content for this toy. I am not sure on currency conversions but I feel you should not be paying anything more than US180 for this piece.

Very happy to see a Singaporean do a review! We get these toys earlier than lots, it's good to be one of the very first to show the world what these toys are. In this case, I am hoping that our friends overseas will be fairly warned, boycott this figure, and force Takaratomy to get their shit together. They really lost the ball on the Masterpiece line since Megatron, I'd say. That faux windshield is pure slackness. I wouldn't pay SGD$150 for this, let alone the SGD$200-250 he's going for.

@Bonecrusher27WTF Well I hope Takaratomy sees these reviews and do some revision to the toy if they are thinking of reissuing it. Then again, with all the bad reviews out there, we're not even sure if this piece will be a sell out. It might end up lelong for all we know.

@AZWADER Actually I think I am the second. Someone else did the first review but it was more of showing him in the various modes, already transformed. I usually show my transformations on camera live. =)

I'm very, very impressed with the complexity of transformation and the intricate engineering on this piece, but I'm not sure if I want it. I'm more of a casual Rodimus fan, so Animated Rodimus and Classics Rodimus + Fansproject's Protector Armor satisfy me enough.

@ShiyojinRommyu This is a good piece and is quite worth getting if you look at it from the perspective that you're getting a G1 representation of the character with all the articulation and anime accurate appearance.

wow i didnt think it was out yet nice rodimus was my first transformer when i was a kid i got him for christmas the year the movie came out
