it is the ethiopians that are the marathon masters! but kenyans freakin rule too! I loooove distance running - I like all the track too, but there is nothing more inspiring than a marathon!

apart from haile, who else wins important races in ethiopia? haile races flat courses, he chicken out on olympics, he has not run new york which is the toughest course. kenya put there B team in Berlin and ethiopia had there A team, who won? look at the percentage of races won and see how many kenyans win and how many ethiopians win. no need to guess we have numbers to prove what you are saying.

Kenyans have better range and a greater number of athletes, that's for certain, but the ethiopians chose a distance and simply dominate. The 10,000 meters is owned by Ethiopia. That being said Wanjiru is an amazing talent. It's a damn shame they couldn't spell his name right on television.

you know, i dont think it matters who the country puts. as long as they put one of their top 200 runners, then as long as they have a good day on the course, theyd win. Just like skiing in norway, there are so many to choose from, just the only difference is that many kenyans and ethiopians are at elite level without being discovered. like a great rock band who cant get a record deal. But yes, it seems like kenya has a ton of runners.
