Holyoke Street Railway: Sequence 1

I think the first thing that knocked Holyoke down was that one day, it was no longer a big advantage to have a great setup (the three canals and the river) for hydro-powered factories. The reason for the immigrants is that it became more affordable to live in Holyoke as its fortunes fell. I'd love it if Holyoke could get back on its feet again — I really liked the town when we lived in West Springfield. (Fun fact: Holyoke used to be part of West Springfield.)

@boazrg Umm, not sure who you mean by illegal immigrants. The Irish? If you are referring to Puerto Ricans, try again. Puerto Ricans are already citizens of this country. Remember, we took it over? Puerto Rico is a "territory". Puerto Ricans are migrants, not immigrants. And by the way, Holyoke was built by legal and illegal immigrants.

@youthelectronix Obviously a lib - sorry fact is where blacks are and Puerto Ricans are in large bunches, all you 'mostly' see are trashy cities, high crime, murders, rapes, etc .. while I agree that there are some very good people in these crowds, you can't ignore what is right in front of your nose to see. OPEN your EYES Michael Moore and the rest of you loser that continually lie to yourselves. Blame the white man, and take absolutely no f-ing responsibility for your own lives. Stupid!
