Yes Virginia is very much southern, well at least Williamsburg is. Northern VA is not all that southern, but where I live, Williamsburg, it is very southern.
I don't care where it was. That's irrelevant. The way I see it, if you're farther north than the upper most part of Texas, you ain't in the South. Who Virginia fought for in the Civil War is completely irrelavent.

Actually, considering it's the 1700's they're reenacting, and it was the disoriented Continental Army, that's actually pretty good marching back then.

on average we get 8 including bass drum
and a 3 to 1 ratio of drummers to fifers
