I put 54 rounds of various hardball ammo through my 380 Guardian right out of the box with no malfuntions. This is a great pistol that is being overlooked by alot of people and is a bargain price for a high quality pistol. My TCP by Taurus shot 30 rounds and then problems started with the slide catching before the last round fired. My pf9 Keltec had problems within the first magazine and the extractor was too long hitting the back of the barrel causing a jam. I filed it off and fine afterwards.
@hlgrice i've yet to try that one. I've never even shot a polymer 380 for that matter. but im so interested. hows the "snappiness" of the tcp? is it's action pretty crisp?
@Abomb520 It is actually very crisp and so light to carry around, yet very high quality. I am in to high quality pistols and have amassed around 20. I have four 380's and my favorite is the Tauras. I have the Bersa thunder that is flawless, but really heavy for the pocket. My favorite open carry in my 1911, or my 40 cal Glock.
@hlgrice cool man, i carry around with a 357mag s&w model65-3, at the moment. just before that, I would carry the bersa 380 too. i love that gun, it is flawless, never had probs. it would eat up basically anything i fed it. but thanks for the input, i'd like to get another smaller 380. the NAA guardian is so heavy, i swear its like they just cut it out of one single chunk of steel. lol
@hlgrice well... at +10lbs its a ridiculously heavy trigger, but i suppose it would have to be, being that it does not have a safety mechanism. the quality is outstanding though, heavy as hell but a great thumper. very reliable just so as long as you keep a tight grip on it. no light holdin', limp wrists on this one, i learned that in my other vid about this gun malfunctioning while shooting Blazer ammo...
Just bought one today. Yes, it has a heavy trigger pull because it is double action only. That's also your safety. I liked it because it's stainless steel and not the composite stuff. I carried it in my back pocket quite comfortably. I know everyone has their caliber prefrence but this is excellent for a CCW. And if you're under attack, you won't even notice the heavy trigger because of your adrenaline.
nice looking, thinking of getting one in either .32 acp or .32 NAA. It would be a pocket carry son I do not expect to shoot it a whole lot. Just enough to ensure reliability. .380 beats a .32 except for the fact that .380 hollow points are insufficient and FMJ's are too much. A .32 FMJ to the skull of an attacker is better I think as it will not go out the other side and cause potential harm to others.
@thegermanPFAU as far as diamiter, the bullet is the same as the 9mm. but it is a smaller grain round and is loaded with less power if you know what I mean. I wanted a compact little pistol, .380's are a good choice for that.
@thegermanPFAU if so, you may want to go with something lighter, these are very heavy and the trigger pull is around 10lbs! A great gun, but I just thought you should know about that, if you are going to order online without getting the chance of holding it...
@thegermanPFAU 9mm are for punk gang banger chumps! i own a .40 s$w...a 12 gauge short pistol grip mossberg 88 and a .25 and .22 ppl laugh at a .22 but in ya skull ya ass will be dead! or 6 shots to the face!
I own the Guardian 380 and the 2 things that come to mind are the Trigger pull at 10lbs is to heavy. Secondly the overall weight of the gun is hefty. Craftsmanship is number 1. Probably replace it soon. just my Opinion
Please note that because this is a heavy steel pistol, this little sucker will fire ANYTHING in the .380 caliber! My Kel-tec P3-AT is lighter and a bit smaller, but the Company told me NOT to fire hot loads (+P, Magsafe, etc.) through this pistol, the frame cannot handle it. This little NAA Guardian can...fine item!
@rolex452 yes sir, you got that right. although I must mention, for some reason it will not cycle the CCI BLAZER rounds. I don't know why, tried different techniques. but jams almost all the time. oh well, blazer ammo is real cheap anyway. besides that, this little guy will eat anything you feed it.
How is the accuracy. I have a cz 75 b and i love its accuracy but its a very large 9mm and it is more than enough to put somebodyt down if fact i wanted a step down to maybe a .380 and this one looks like it is very small maybe a lil smaller than what im lookin for
looks to have a good solid steel construction thats something you don't see everyday anymore. I noticed the small sights but thats probly fine in a compact gun. I'd like to get one with crimson trace laser grips.
My first 380 was the NAA Guardian but I traded it for a Kel-Tec because of the weight and then an LCP... now I'm back to my second Guardian. I can live with the weight because the NAA is more reliable, for me. I think that the reliability of the
380's depends on the shooter, style and hand size. Just an opinion.
thanks for the comment roaneagle. I agree with you about reliability. Besides, if you run out of bullets, you can chuck the thing at the assailant and probably knock him into next week. lol.
ive got the 32acp guardian pre ban in CA and i love mine never had a problem with it and i like the weight of it ,makes it feel quality and the fact its all steel
This is a very heavy 380 auto AND very expensive for that you get. You can get into a lot better gun for that price..and less. Shop around folks. You should have gone with a Ruger LCP. Nice camera though.
Thanks for watching, yes this thing is heavy. I must add, this gun is about 4 years old. Its a hand me down, I dont think ruger had come out with the LCP at that time.I'm a big fan of all steel frames. I don't know, I guess it's just my preference. I've handled the LCP, and don't get me wrong, it's real nice, but I just didn't like the feel of it in my hand. I like that heavy feel. but hey, to each there own.
I have carried one of these now for over a year. Mine has Crimson Trace grips. Most of the time I carry it in a DeSantis super fly holster in front pocket, Sometimes in a slide holster in a cross draw fashion. It is loaded with 52 grain Magsafe ammo. It is my summer carry gun.
nice, so how easy is it getting on target with those laser grips? It would be a nice modification for this pistol. I like how you labeled it as your summer carry gun. thanks for taking the time to comment. peace.
its a great gun i got it for my pocket, got some corbon in the tube, never shot it though, i just got it a week ago. i cleaned it out today. i need to find a nice holster or rig up my own, right now it hides in an old leather wallet of mine.
yeah i still have "macguyver'd" the wallet well cut it up in half now ..its just half of a soft leather wallet with old plastic cc cards in it to maintain shape only used as a shield to prevent printing. in my front pocket heh. "ghetto" but is convenient for me. I know they do have a pocket holster out there but i forgot the brand.
i highly recommend it. if you get one, please invest in the crimson laser grips down the road. even if you get the .380 with the Cali safety lock, it can be removed so you can use the laser grips. laser sites in my opinion are a must for concealed carry....point and shoot.
i am a security guard at my locol mall and i have my vary own naa .380 and it is a vary nice pocket pistol i never really have to shoot it but i have had to in the past and i have only been in this job scens 09/28/08 and it is a great job i love my .380
nice NAA .380 i have one just like urs i take it everywere i go i am a security at my locol mall and i always have mine in my pocket i never have to use it but i have shot it many times it is one hell of a gun i even gave it a name ''dallas'' cuz i was born in dallas texas but i now live in the small town of bartlett IL
yeah, I love this gun as well. For some reason, it is more accurate than other 380's I've shot with 3 and also 3 1/2 inch barrels. I like the name you gave it, being from Texas myself. well, south Texas that is.
Forgot to mention, unlike the Keltec/Ruger poly guns, this gun you can take to the range everyday. Try that with the poly guns and you'll have problems. Built like a tank ( a bit heavy) but will last.
Built like a tank, I agree. I feel like NAA grabbed a steel block and cut this gun out. It is so heavy for it's size. But yes, very good gun. Not to mention a good amount of accessories for it. I do not recommend Blazer ammo for it though, I'll have a video for that later.
Yep, I had issues using Blazer ammo. I use some brand that my range carries that does well. Corbon ammo seems to work well (DPX). Had issues with Hornady.
LOL! None of the small pocket guns are range guns. They're for personal defense not rage practice. Besides, I know of plenty of Rugers LCP's that have thousands of rounds fired without any problems. 9.4 ozs comparatively. POLY guns, Jesus, everyone's a expert when it comes to Polycarbonate. Do some frickin research before you make such blind statements. And, Welcome to the 21st century.
yes, i do have an lcp. i teach CCW here locally and i don know several who's lcps have brokend due to too much range time. in all fairness, they were the first versions that had a few kinks. mine is the latest version and shoots very well. i really like it.
I can attest to that, the poly gunes are just not built to last, although I would have to say that the weight in an all metal gun is what really absorbs the re-coil, and gives you accuracy, not at all true in a poly frame...
Finally got mine. Had the .32 acp first. Very small and light but man, did it hurt my hand shooting. The .380 shoots better, more mass to absorb the recoil. Not much bigger either, still fits in my front/rear pocket.
.32 acp i cold shoot next to my balls and id smile. lol the kickback isnt all that bad at all you should get a glock 19 i love it 50 yards 8/10 bullseye just my game
I have small hands and it hurts as its very light, narrow, solid steel, and very awkward grip with steel backstrap. Has nothing to do with power. I shoot a snub 357 ruger with hard plastic laser grips and full hunting loads...the pain is almost the same. I can shoot my Glock 10MMs /.45s all day without any issues. The polymer and wider grip helps aborb lots of the recoil. I got rid of the .32 for a ruger lcp and Naa .380, so small I carry every day...a key in concealed carry.
nise looking gun.
