  • Actually, bumping a lock causes a very different kind of wear than normal use, after a single bumping, a lock will show a dent above the keyway(I do know that this is avoidable) only after about 4000 to 5000 uses does visible wear appear here, and it looks nothing like that which comes from bumping, also after a single bump, almost all parts of the lock will show wear that does not come from anything else. (the most prominent of these is a dent in the pins)

  • @JNSpdi Actually it's YOU who isn't very intelligent. The shoulder of the key hits the outside of the lock when you bump it. My practice lock has a significant dent in it right there. I also had to bump the lock at my dad's house once, and it scraped the paint in that spot. Of course you can minimize these effects by using less force, but if you aren't using a machine cut bump key then that may not be entirely possible.

  • how stupid have we become?!

  • The tumblers tumble

  • @Monkeytim now it all makes sense

  • these idiots r just scarying u to make money .thay say bumpin has been around for 50 yrs and all of a sudden after "50 yrs" thay wanna warn u .even if u spend money on new locks theres other ways thifes can get ur house .like kickin the door or pickin it lol.if u wanna protect ur home ,all u have to do is buy a alarm its the only thing that stop a theif .JUST ME .lol
