maybe a debut fight against rothwell would be a good match up for toney? suppose theres loads to choose from, cant wait to see how he does though. i think he must have been training jiu jitsu for some time now to be calling out the champ like hes doing. it would take a really dumb person to call out the champ in mma when you dont have serious ground skills. anyway i cant wait

I do not understand why people think that James Toney is going to just walk into the UFC and fight a top 10 fighter. He was just now signed with the UFC.  No bid deal just another fighter. I do not understand all of the disrespect directed twords James Toney! He could possible build himself up and become a top ten fighter or even a champ who knows. He has just as good a chance as anyone. Quit trying to put the man down. If James Toney sucked he would have never ben signed with the ufc.

The fact is you wanna see the best fighters fighting each other...When there are two different organizations where fighters don't compete again one another that sucks. Now Dan Henderson will probably be fight for strikeforce and easily win the middleweight belt against Jake Shields...who wants Henderson out of the UFC where most of the best fighters gather

I love love James Tony! But, he's going to get his ass stomped even against non ranked MMA fighters... there is no way he can fight a top ten Professional MMA fighter... He'll get killed in the first round... Unless Tonie's been Studying Jujitsu and submissions and muy thai for the last 8 years without telling anyone!

@crazymike44 Look there is a way it could happen. The UFC has decided that it could happen, I think it could happen. COULD HAPPEN. This video is also inacurate. No one said he was eve fighting Brock Lessnar. James Toney can fight light heavy too.

Yes, true... I still don't think if james even fought a professional MMA fighter with only 10 fights that he could stand a chance... I do know, that he is a natural athlete, and can learn fast... but, the ground game is something that takes time... Maybe he wrestled in highschool competively and maybe he's been training in jujitsu the last 5 years or so... Who knows... We'll see.. I do wish Tony the Best! I think it would be Awesome if he beat a decent MMA fighter in any way!

This is an opinion but I don't think anyone wants to fight Manny now. He never gave Clottey the opportunity to fight back. Made Oscar quit, ko'd Hatton beat Cotto into submission and forced Clottey to not fight. He is a freak of nature

I am a mma fan and a boxing fan and I never said boxing was dead speak for yourself illuz. Also, Joney signed with the UFC, and he was calling out Brock Lessnar, not that he is going to fight him in the near future. Probably going to have him fight Kimbo or some junk. I do not know why he can't trane MMA and fight in MMA. Brock lessnar is from wrestling and he is the champ now so why not?

Because every fight goes to the ground! In real life and in the cage! Without a ground game, you are toast! 70% of MMA, is the ground game! And that's where Brock Came from! Even Chuck LIdell, famous for stand up, is a collegiate wrestler and submissions/jujitsu fighter... as is Rampage, Rashad, and all the stand up MMA fighters... all are phenomenal ground technicians... Tony is not!

Every fight does not go to the ground, ya those people come from wrestling, but UFC has never had this kind of striker

@Shadowslamer You are absolutely right... And, that can give James Tony an advantage... I just don't think over all boxing is anywhere near enough... I was a state champion in boxing and #1 Ranked in the United states in Kickboxing with 6 years of wrestling and some jujitsu... there is no way I would step into the MMA ring without my ground game... I sincerely wish James Toney the Best, he's a cool guy... and great boxer!

i dont know about james toney, i mean i used to play as him in friday night fight like few years ago, he's pretty old like if he got take down and slamed by brock, i don't think it would be a good fight, unless he somehow knock out brock lesnar......
