  • Back in the '70's when the tenor had a wrought iron clapper, it sounded superb, although it was rather dominant.

  • @95tupolev Funnily enough I was ringing at SMV Nottingham the day after your comment. It's got a good sound with it's present Nylon shafted clapper

  • Ah, yes, inside they are a bit disappointing. I agree wholeheartedly with the banning of lead and concrete in towers.

  • It has a plastic clapper, well sort of. Its a Hayward Mills (now Taylors) composite clapper, plastic shaft with SG ball. Its a lot better than what was in before, and makes it quite easy to handle. I think it could do with being a little more punchy (technical term) , but it sounds totally different inside (ban concrete floors in bell towers!) Think that was one of our better efforts. Glad you weren't outside last sunday evening listening to the London Royal!

  • Was that a half course?!?!

  • it certainly was!

  • Could do with a wooden clapper in the tenor - It's slightly indistinct....

  • it's fine on my speakers!

  • They do sound rather fine.

  • omg, these sound beautiful!! :)
