  • Could you possibly make a video of just the bass? It's got great tone and I found a nice deal online but I can't get my hands on one at a music store.

Great playing also! You've got a great musical sense of timing!

  • Thanks!!

I don't have this bass anymore sorry.

Not bad for the money but not as punchy as the ash TRB's

  • Just a couple questions (because I am seriously considering this and I don't want to travel to a big city to try out a bass I won't want =P )

    1. You said you would never use this bass onstage. Is there a reason why?

    2. Would you compare the neck to more of a J-bass or a P-bass?

    3. What are the controls on the bass? I'm guessing the three small ones are bass. mid, and treble.

  • A: I use 5 string basses and I didnt think it had a great sound, was a little tinny.

A: I say more like a jazz, the neck had a pretty good feel.

I think from memory it was a 35 scale length too, it was little unnecessary for a 4 string bass.

    A: Yea master Volume, Pan-Pot, 3-Band-EQ.

  • Hey, awesome playing.

I am actually thinking about buying this bass. My question is, What is the nut width? Could you measure it for me? Also, is it comfortable resting your thumb on those pickups?

  • ??? you're one baddass mofo anyway!!!

  • Thanks!!

I only kept this bass for about 6 months, I think they are onky for the money but I'd never use it on stage.

  • is that a korean or japanese trb?

  • yea, not that good!

  • yer i am and im just learning to slap

  • wow how do u do that slapping? and are u Gerards boss?

  • haha, yea he works for me!

Are you a student of his?

    Slapping takes heaps of practice!!!!!!!

  • nice playing !!

  • Thanks!

  • nice!

  • thats sweet! what type of bass is that?

  • hey thanks, this bass is a Yamaha TRB1004, hard to get in Australia.

    Jaymie

  • Just GREAT DUDE!!!!!!

  • Beautiful,, A living, breathing groove that just keeps kicking! The cymbals are little loud in the recording, but the bass playing is very PHAT!

  • nice man!!!!!! do you have the tabs for it cos i really wanna learn it!!!!!

  • thats so groovy.. not many people are so talented as u.. how long are u playing.. iam 14 now play 1 year..hoow long are u playing pls mail me..

  • ur amazing at bass

  • thanks man!!

  • wht do u think is a good starting bass for a beginer?

  • I started with 3 Ibanez soundgear basses, a 4, a 5 and a fretles. I would say for the money they are pretty good although I hated thier 5 strnig.

  • Cort make some new basses that are now pretty good too, I have an Cort RB5 that I use for gigs I have to fly to and I like playing it.

  • Also anything by Yamaha!

    jaymie

  • yeah yamaha would be the best for its price, cheap but good osund and quality.. good pick ups :)

    =)

  • yo man i love the slap parts they sound incredible!

  • the lines are soooooooooo great but sound often like they were not done for one song :P

  • ok will do

  • wait i worked it out kinda will take me a lil while but i kinda got it XD

  • Good stuff man!!!! If you don't have a go then you will never grow as a bass player.

Keep it up and let me know how you go.

    jaymie Murray.

  • o come on i just wanna no the first bit on first drum beat if you no wat i mean please =)

  • any chance i could some tabs for this =0 please reply

  • Hye mate.

Have a go at working it out, if you use Tabs all the time then you will get your ears working.

    Jaymie

  • Yea mate, have been for about 3 years.

Still a lot of work to do on my playing though, never ending!

Are you playing in a band or anything?

  • Hahahaha, thanks man!!

By the way I'd love to see that seizure thing happen, could turn out ok :D

    J

  • Dude...you are my twin. Not in appearance, but in style and skill (when I'm not playing covers). Very, very nice!!! 5/5 faved and all of that jazz. Took me 22 years....lemme guess....took you far less.

  • great style..

  • Bass jam 2, you can see it at my channel.

  • nice playing man! loving the slap.

the Trb's are amazing, i cant fault it!

  • Thanks budd,

Did you see the new vid with the same bass?

    Jay

  • well done, nice playing Jay

  • Real fun groove man, real awesome.

  • Nice bass work...Melodies, feeling and groove! That´s the spirit of playing nice music! Congratulations! You are surelly an excelent musician!

  • what do i think... i love the yamaha that series of basses and pickups/electronics are vastly underated. bad drum mixing my god. hit crashes like you would a child. hard enough for effect but soft enough not to leave a mark.

  • Cool, thanks for the comment, just understand that this is a trial song to be recorded at some time with a real band, also it was recorded on a small still camera so some frequencies come out more than others.

  • Nice work, Jaymie!!

    Bo

  • Hey Jaymie. Cool tune mate. Fantastic playing.

I really like the 1/4 note triplet modulation.

    Slick.

    Michael Duckworth

  • Hey Jaymie, Thanks for the comment, I really like what you are doing to. The metric modulation in this song is very cool, it fits perfect and is very smooth. Solid playing and great composition. Cheers, Jim.

  • Nice work Jaymie.

  • Great job Jaymie, I am looking foward to jamming and working with you soon.

  • Wow, nice, i love your style :). Spot on right the way through :D

When i play, i tend to not move around the neck enough >.<, guess its just practice,

    Keep it up ;D

  • Good work, man. Lots to admire here, from the melodic intro figure to the mix mix of finger-style funk, slap, and chords at the end. Great timing and tone all the way through.
