one of the things i admire about viggo mortensen as an actor is that he's not afraid of doing nude scenes that are germain to the plot/integrity of the movie, not just gratuitous nudity for nudity's sake. don't get me wrong, i think he's a wet dream walking and i for one appreciate EVERY inch of him (naked! lol) but viggo is the difference between an actor and a movie star on an ego trip; he's the total package, smart, sexy as hell and willing to take artistic risks. the man ROCKS!!!

I absolutely do not object to VIggo's nakedness. The word alone -"naked" - implies vulnerability. They sought Nikolai (Viggo) out at his most vulnerable. It was awful, frightening, desperate and necessary. That is the point that I believe Cronenberg meant to make. Nikolai fought without embarassment because that would be detrimental to his survival. It was a potent scene.

Kudos to Viggo for playing it the core.
