Classic A-Force, look at those body shots. That would take the wind out of anyones sails. If he had hit haye with those bodyshots the gayemaker wouldve have spewed his ringer.
why the fuck doesnt harrison throw punches. i just dont get it. if he throws punches and lets his shots go he wins. why the fuck doesnt he understand this basic principle.
@undrugged When harrison puts him down he didnt continue he throws punches at the guy, he could of easily got in another blow or 2 , but he didnt. Now harrison may be many things, but i respect the guy for not throwing cheap shots many boxers do. Just a shame he doesnt let fly in the fight, he's got the ability to throw punches in bunches and I just dont know why he doesnt! If harrison loses tomorrow but fights with heart he'll be able to hold his head high.
@TomSouthLondon I agree with you. The longer I have had to get to know what Audley Harrison is all about, the more I have come to like him. He seems to be a gent, and Haye is the one who shows an ugly lack of respect. I know it's all pantomime but you know what I mean. I would love Harrison to land that left hand and get a win.
harrison has everything on the outside to be a world champion, size, speed, skill but has nothing inside that a champion should have! like a heart, a boxing brain and the most basic attribute a fighter should have, a desire to win!
i never did rate lewis as a top ten, when tyson fought lewis he was washed up, holyfield was'nt particulary a legend in the ring and bowe was a good heavyweight with an impressive record, lewis was a great fighter but know where near what tyson was in the late 80's.
THE U.K PUBLIC HAVE HAD ENOUGH! They cannot endure the tortuous wait any longer! The anticipation is now at fever pitch! It is time to get it on! Frank Warren we order you to get it on! THE BRITISH PUBLIC DEMMAND IT! It's time for BUGNER v HARRISON!
(fr)Audley harrison is a disgrace. It's very sad because he had so much promise but we must now turn our attention to david haye. THe future of British heavyweight is dependant on him. Gwan DAVID!!!!!!!!!!
The fact is World heavyweight boxing is crying out for a new modern day legend/hero! We Brits must be patient! There is a man out there, it might take 10-15 years for this prized fruit to ripen! This man can then live amongst the giants of history. Marciano! Louis! Ali! Holmes! Tyson! That mans name? AUDLEY HARRISON!
The reason people ridicule Audley is down to pure jealousy at his incredible talent. My all time greatest Heavyweight Boxers....
#1.Audley
#2.Ali
#3.Lewis
#4.Tyson
#5.Louis
Audley is a legend...from day one hes been nothing but imperious, silky smooth, great technique, endurance, KO power, loved by the fans.....and give great entertainment.
Note : for any yanks this is called sarcasm, though the entertainment part was true as the comedy Audrey has provided has been priceless,
So in that case you should have danny williams in that list because he ko Tyson in just 4 rounds compare to lewis who took 8. Let not forget that Tyson was in better shape and everyone was saying tyson is back when he fough williams.
I see, Audley beat a shadow of williams so that why you got in him that list.
1988 Olympic Champion - beat up Bowe so bad that he was traumatised and avoided another mauling from Lewis like the plague
Undisputed Heavyweight Champion - destroyed Tyson who as champ was beaten by holyfield who in turn was battered by Lewis TWICE within 18 months..case closed
Olympic champion, undisputed heavyweight champion, beat every fighter he ever faced, owned the last 20 years..retired after beating Klitschko knowing he was past his best. Lennox Lewis #1
are you having a laugh? its clear to a blind man with no boxing experience that lewis beat an old holyfield, a broken tyson, ok i'll give you bowe but bowe was never a great fighter.
the greatest heavyweight ever was Ali, simple as!
lewis was a good fighter, the best of an era, but very few fighters are truly great!
Lewis beat up holyfield twice within 18 months of him beating tyson.
Lewis beat up Bowe who later gutlessly publicly avoided another mauling from Lewis in giving up a mandatory and his belt.. instead Bowe fought holyfield and beat the absolute crap out of him twice and knocked him spark out.
Lennox Lewis as the #1 of his Era from 1988-2003.. beat every fighter he ever faced and but for non preparation for fight in Africa and also a sucker punch he'd have been unbeaten. Lewis was top dog.
So when was holyfield at his best??? in 1992-1993 when Riddick Bowe (who had publicly admitted he would never step in the same ring as Lewis and recieve another beating and gave up his belt) beat the shit out of holyfield twice and knocked him spark out???
No Lewis is not better than Ali for one simple reason.. he was far too negative on some occasions (like when he should have took out holyfield when dominating rather than jab him to death).. plus he was laid back nor did he possess the extreme silky skills of Ali. Cooper of course floored Ali and got the dubious long rest.. so no fighter was unpregbable.. but he waa the best
Lewis has all the tools... but he was too casual so altho was #1 in his era i wouldnt put him higher than #5 all time.
Very hard to say because my knowledge is limited to a select few.. the last 25 years i have a decent grasp off and the opposition of each fighter and their records...also there is historical rose tinted bias when people look back at old fighters pre and post war.. joe louis fought many many bums while mariciano lost at least 3 fights that were dubiously given to him.. he beat a shot Louis, someone like Lewis at double his size it would have been a mismatch and Lewis jab would have peppered him
we can only judge each fighter in his own era. i mean someone like jones jr or mayweather would have beaten the likes of robinson and henry armstrong, but they are considered great. but i get what you mean
The only difference is tho Robinson would have had modern training methods so would have been on level terms with them.. marciano on the otherhand even with modern training, diet etc would have been dwarfed by Lewis who would have jabbed him to death.
well thats what i mean. we can only judge them on the training methods, and know how that was around when they were. i mean who's to say that lewis without modern training, wouldn't have been just like primo carnera?
Because Lewis was #1 in his era with fantastic technical ability and therefore an exceptional talent.. what we can do is judge size differential..and marciano would have been dwarfed by Lewis.. whose long reach and jab would have peppered marciano to a pulp and he'd not have got near him.
lewis and tyson are the best heavyweights ever! tyson in his prime was amazing power and speed and lewis in his prime had great boxing skills and i feel he would have beat ali too strong and his jab was key he destroyed people with his jab unbeleivable.
bad stoppage.. never stop a fight after a bodypunch if he beats d count, even if he's gettin outclassed like dis. a fighter takin to many punches is his corners concern. d ref should only stop a fight when d fighter cant defend himself no more
Once again dazzling footwork and speed from Audley! Reminds me of Ali haha! He needs to work alot harder and show sum passion and belief! I hope he does sumthin in his career b4 he retires! He has got ability but it remains to b seen
Wladimir is probably the best of the bunch?? you jealous nazi, he the best by far and if he does not ko a undefeated Heavyweight champ then he get criticised, that how great he is.
YOU nazi want to criticise him on that performance well why not praise him on his 44ko from 50fight which is the strongest ko ratio in history for a undiputed Heavyweight champ, only tyson ratio almost matches Klitschko
He was good against Danny Williams in the 2nd fight and he started well against Sprott. He has been arrogant in the past, but there's no need to hate him for it, we all make mistakes. Audley is skill full, you can't win the gold and not be. I just hope he gets his confidence back and has some decent fights, he needs to develop the heart of a warrior and not be soooo cautious - understandable after a harsh ko though.
hopefully david haye does alrite at heavyweight he's not got much to beat.i have seen monuments move faster than audley harrison,he is so flat footed and crap its funny.i bet the bbc feel robbed
Harrison is so stiff and robotic, he makes Wladimir Klitschko look like Ali, well maybe not quite lol. His punch output though is so low he makes big Wlad look like aaron pryor, ok again not quite. I pray that David Haye makes some noise at Heavyweight its such a dull division at the moment.
First of all KLitschko is incrediby fast and for his size he too fast, never ever seen a Huge heavyweight soo fast, I wouldn't even compare him to pryor or whoever she/he is. Ali had middleweight speed and maybe slightly faster than Wladimir but Wladimir also has the size and reach advantage which probably even out or even give WLadimir the slight edge in that department
I dont know whos worse? Audley harrison as a boxer or Frank warren as a promoter. When Calzaghe beat Lacy his next fights should of been superfights Hopkins, Wright (Ok he priced himself out of it) Jones, Taylor, instead all warren could give him was saiko bika and peter manfredo 2 fighters that need a reality show to boost their careers. I for one am sick of Frank Warren sharing in Joe calzaghes glory.
my god people are deluded, or know nothing about boxing. Audrey Harrison is old news he's washed up and should retire and let proper british better fighters like David Haye have their time. He's is over. Its 8 years since the gold medal and we've seen nothing. He talks the talk but most certainly doesnt walk the walk. Haye does what Harrison doesn't, he does what he says he will do.
The guy was clearly okay to continue, after he sprang back up at the 8 count.
Bad decision by the ref and it looked as if Jason was doing relatively well in that round.
Audley isn't going to get a shot at a title fight, there are just too many better guys ahead of him in the queue, Alexander Povetkin, Denis Boytsov, Odlanier Solis (If he gets in better shape!) and David Haye (If his chin can absorb the heavier punches) to name just 4!
Classic A-Force, look at those body shots. That would take the wind out of anyones sails. If he had hit haye with those bodyshots the gayemaker wouldve have spewed his ringer.
