I've just bought special effects cupcake dye, but i was wondering how much conditioner you would use to get it to the shade you have at the top of your head? Your hair looks amazing by the way!

@ConnorlBall hmm, its hard to answer that question because it really depends on what color you have gotten your hair to!

cupcake pink is a subtle enough color! so i really didnt have to add that much conditioner, only a small bit.

you can add a small amount of conditioner and if its still to pale then just dye it again with little or no conditioner =]

for any one bleaching before doing a funk color you should ALL WAYS use a toner... I know you mention it but you don't go into detail so I thought I would help out and let every one know why you should! :) It is so your blond doesn't have yellow undertones. You must use toner if you are going to stick with the color and if you want it to look good and vibrant all the time! Any time when you bleach you are leaving your hair in a raw -pigment stat and toner helps fix it.

i have tips for keeping the colour longer:

- wash your hair with COLD water

- shampoo your hair every other day (for me, my hair doesn't get greasy until 5 days after just washing it with cold water)

- when your hair is really greasy, you don't have to shampoo it thoroughly. just take some shampoo, dilute it, and rub it very gently on your hair just to remove the grease.

- always try to buy a dark shade of pink/blue/green/whatever so that when it does fade, it fades to a regular colour

@MsDearcarol when dying my hair with dyes, nope! because any semi permanent hair dye is hydrating your hair. So if someone is dying their hair the worst and most damaging part is when you bleach all your hair blonde the first time.

But when i bleach my roots, its 'new' hair so 1 dose of bleaching doesnt do damage.
