Its hard for me express my thought here, but maybe i can leave something for all of us to think. Between academic contribution and political contribution, which of it is much more meaningful and can leave a greater impact to community. In politic, there will always be selfishness within, but with knowledge the righteousness will always be for the next generation to enjoy. So as part of the academic community, if you really want to contribute something, choose wisely..
Yes, as part of the academic community, we should play our part. That is why, before the last Auku amendment was made, who restrict student to even join any political party, personally i dont agree with it. But since the amendment is made, we all are allow to enter any political party that we want. We can vote, we can even give lecture and share our thought with the community, what we cant do is just, we cannot do it on campus, and hold any position in the party. Was that so hard to do.
Personally i get it. We all come from different background, therefore we must have different views about things that happen around us. The question is not about who is right and who is wrong. Its about what really matters for us as a student. When we enter university, our goals is to gain as much knowledge that we can so that we can contribute to the community. So its the knowledge that what we should be fighting for, not politic.
