Songs like Kid Gloves, Between the Wheels, Grand Designs, Prime Mover, Mission, The Pass, Anagram, Available Light, Bravado, The Big Wheel, Half the World, Totem and Resist, are all songs that deserve to be pulled out of the vault for the bands next tour. Some of the songs sure, had their bigger spot lights, but some didn't. In my opinion at least Grand Designs, Prime Mover, Available Light and The Big Wheel should be played on their next tour hands down.
Could somebody please explain to me, by some fallacy of nature, why Rush isnt in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet?!?!?!? I mean its pretty freaking obvious that they should be, right???
@ILLUMINAMUSIC that's just bassist with unusual technique and voice, guitarist with million of effect pedals and drummer with drum kit bigger than my room ;)
OMG I wish they did this song at the concert i went to one of my favorite songs by rush so much emotion in it anyone who says its not good needs a pair of hearing aid
Peart is regarded as one of the greatest drummers of all time. The lyrical content of this song matches his musicianship. I believe ALL of us can relate to this song.
this song came out when i was a senior i was so close to quitting ... this song saw me through -- anyone who disses Rush just doesn't have enough mental faculty to see the heart and soul of their message --- REACH TO THE LIGHT AND HAVE FUN!
ooo maybe i never be at their concert i saw live Dream Theater and Judas Priest and Queensryche twice Robert Plant and Jimy Page once Yes once but Rush wasnt
Neil's back there in his' own world, pounding away and Im glad that it was caught on film, a lot of emotion for a man who has endured quite a bit...thanks for sticking in there for us...you are a true testament to perserverance!!
@happyface4444 Less than two months ago, I was literally standing on a cliff face, convinced that this was it. There were two things that ran through my head that made me turn around: the thought of holding my wife one more time, and this song. So yeah, it's kinda cool.
@happyface4444 when i heard this song it was like they were sitting in the room with me telling me about how they feel and it resonated perfectly with how i felt. some one has to be better than Jesus, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin combined to make someone feel like that. Rush is that way
Cited by critics as being cold, unemotional, and aloof, this song is a true testimonial to the emotional depth that comes out from their music. Anyone who truly listens to this will hear/feel a voice inside that only seems to come knocking once in a great while. Rush are masters at bringing out the voice of the soul.
@1968mjh Yes, it does. It absolutely soars - it almost transcends the song itself, as great as the song is. Simple, short, and unbelievably sweet, saying more in 20 seconds than many modern guitarists could manage in a lifetime.
@wnils just another example of neil peart's tremendous lyric writing, and the putting to music by alex and geddy to bring the message across. one of the two best songs about suicide, this and Peter Gabriel's Don't Give Up
Definitely Rush at their finest, not overly complicated in its riffs.A timeless piece of Rush history.

I swore to myself that I would not get emotional before listening to this song again. ...
....and yet I did. God I love this song, and I love RUSH.
The chorus is amazing. The chord progression and lyrics are simply amazing and chilling. Rush is noble (and that's No Bull !)
A proud Canuck :-)
