  • Definitely Rush at their finest, not overly complicated in its riffs.A timeless piece of Rush history.

  • No doubt...one of the greatest bands...the biggest under~rated talent on the planet. I too love this tune...esp hearing it live! Turn it UP!

  • Rush is for people with theirs brains intact and wealthy!!

  • Holy Shit !!

    Alex NAILED that Solo !!

    3:30

  • No hero in your tragedy No daring in your escape No salutes for your surrender Nothing noble in your fate Christ, what have you done?

  • This, Bravado and Ghost Rider are very good examples of deep songs

  • Could somebody please explain to me, by some fallacy of nature, why Rush isnt in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet?!?!?!? I mean its pretty freaking obvious that they should be, right???

  • I really want Alex to bring back the PRS, it gives such a beautiful sound.

  • how can just three people sound like a ten piece band!! ??

  • @ILLUMINAMUSIC that's just bassist with unusual technique and voice, guitarist with million of effect pedals and drummer with drum kit bigger than my room ;)

  • @SgtZaqq do ya suppose any three musicians could do what arush does with all that ?

  • @Cincinnatus1869 they CAN'T

  • I will love rush, untill the day I die and when im dead..same thing!

  • wow, the first time i heard this sond i understood it completely... very touching.

  • I swore to myself that I would not get emotional before listening to this song again. ...

....and yet I did. God I love this song, and I love RUSH.

The chorus is amazing. The chord progression and lyrics are simply amazing and chilling. Rush is noble (and that's No Bull !)

    A proud Canuck :-)

  • Hard for me to hear this, better yet see Rush live....I can't hold a tear back. Awesome!

  • press "0" once at 5:12 for something awesome ;)

  • this song has so much meaning to my personal life it has saved me so many times.

  • OMG I wish they did this song at the concert i went to one of my favorite songs by rush so much emotion in it anyone who says its not good needs a pair of hearing aid

  • Peart is regarded as one of the greatest drummers of all time. The lyrical content of this song matches his musicianship. I believe ALL of us can relate to this song.

  • this song came out when i was a senior i was so close to quitting ... this song saw me through -- anyone who disses Rush just doesn't have enough mental faculty to see the heart and soul of their message --- REACH TO THE LIGHT AND HAVE FUN!

  • There is a hot Brazilian girl in the audience I would love to be a Rush fan in that country

  • @Annonymus121 Is it the girl at 0:30 ??, She caught my eye also, i thought it was cool watching her getting into it when they were playing 'YYZ'

  • @Majikart It's the same girl I noticed, and commented on, long ago....ah mi amore!

  • ooo maybe i never be at their concert i saw live Dream Theater and Judas Priest and Queensryche twice Robert Plant and Jimy Page once Yes once but Rush wasnt

  • I don't know. Rush fans that like their newer music, women with phat tushes and women in the Rush audience...sounds like i need to book a flight

  • Has to be one of Alex's best solos, and he has many...

  • EPIC!!!

  • Neil's back there in his' own world, pounding away and Im glad that it was caught on film, a lot of emotion for a man who has endured quite a bit...thanks for sticking in there for us...you are a true testament to perserverance!!

  • lol i love how geddy has this super beefy and distorted bass sound for this song

  • rickenbacker bass fine moment

  • @pbrick6301 NOt a rick a Fender

  • @ethelwaldo i stand corrected.

  • This the best version of this timeless song.

  • I love many rush songs, but this is one of my favorite songs that they play live!

  • They said ! of their favorites....... listen again.... the lyrics & the way the song builds...

  • Beautiful!!:D

  • It's kinda cool that this song might have saved a life somewhere.

  • @happyface4444

    saved mine :)

  • @happyface4444 lots of their songs have I'll bet

  • @happyface4444 Less than two months ago, I was literally standing on a cliff face, convinced that this was it. There were two things that ran through my head that made me turn around: the thought of holding my wife one more time, and this song. So yeah, it's kinda cool.

  • @happyface4444 It helped me through a lot about a year ago.

  • @happyface4444

    It has....mine...

  • @happyface4444 when i heard this song it was like they were sitting in the room with me telling me about how they feel and it resonated perfectly with how i felt. some one has to be better than Jesus, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin combined to make someone feel like that. Rush is that way

  • @happyface4444 Yes Indeed !! Amen!

  • @happyface4444 it saved mine

  • Cited by critics as being cold, unemotional, and aloof, this song is a true testimonial to the emotional depth that comes out from their music. Anyone who truly listens to this will hear/feel a voice inside that only seems to come knocking once in a great while. Rush are masters at bringing out the voice of the soul.

  • @ejraptor35 well said...!

  • @lifeson241 seconded!

  • Typical of many of the truly great songs, with only 400+ views, it's a rarity.

  • i think that rush should do at least one song of each one of their albums for the R40 setlist

  • Alex's solo sends shivers down the spine.

  • @1968mjh Yes, it does. It absolutely soars - it almost transcends the song itself, as great as the song is. Simple, short, and unbelievably sweet, saying more in 20 seconds than many modern guitarists could manage in a lifetime.

  • thanx for the quality upload fellow Rush dork, eh? ;)

One of my many most ♥ed Rash Tunes

  • Nice one.

  • It's such a great song

  • @wnils just another example of neil peart's tremendous lyric writing, and the putting to music by alex and geddy to bring the message across. one of the two best songs about suicide, this and Peter Gabriel's Don't Give Up
