you've missed out one important fact about our "greek" identity. When a few (and I mean a very small amount) of our elders say we are greek they always say "na jemi greket te ftete" (We are the REAL greeks), and they say that in Greece they are not really Greek because they have replaced the Arberesh language with modern Greek. We do not identify with modern day Greeks at all, and Greek is NOt our liturgical language, it is only used sporadically in some chants, the rest is in Albanian.
