what are your mods to your car? i want to see the list because im still thinking about getting a turbo but also thinking about selling my car but its payed off so i might keeps it but i would like to see the mods you have. to help me think about keepen it. thanks
Si driver must have been terrible. Sorry, but the SI (at most) would be 10 WHP under what you're pushing wih the boost. Superior gearing in the SI.. you pulled on him too hard.
I pull on him so hard because i have torque in my car, my car was making 197lbs of torque and my car weights less then his, it also has longer gears, longer gears are goof for turbos..
Torque does not win races. If it did, the SI wouldn't be able to contend with the cars it does while only have 139 tq. I've run with a few GTI's stock for stock and my car has never been pulled on like you did on that SI which has full bolt-ons.
You have no clue on what you are talking about, torque wins races and horse power sells cars, thats how it goes..
The reason the Si can keep up with cars with more torque, is because of the short gears it has and the high redline.. if it wasn't for that the SI will not be keeping up with GTis and other cars like that..
BTW my car right now can keep up with mazdaspeed3s, i race one that had intake and BOV, we race from a roll of 30mph to 90pmh and he could not pull on me, they have 260hp 280tq.
word of advice. crank tq doesnt mean the wheel is seeing that must tq. The amount of hp outputed at 1 instant will tell you how fast it can go in that instant. the amount of hp the cars produces can be thought of as this.. 100hp = 100hp worth of wheel tq. Since wheel tq changes with gear ratio's etc., you can produce 100hp with of tq at any given velocity. more hp= more wheel tq at same rpm. so more hp = faster car. you CANNOT make 200hp faster by increasing crank tq. you would be loosing rpms.
ill put this in a simple physics setup for you. Since you can't destroy energy. and hp is energy. YOu must account for all of it. 1. producing say 200hp must be taken into account. the nergy in moving the car and all energy losses. 2. to make a car faster, i.e have more kinetic energy, one must input more energy, i.e hp. 3. IF adding crack tq but still having 200hp would make a car faster, then ur creating energy. since 200hp cant do more work than another 200hp. this is not my opinion. its fact
The first u need to learn is stop relating how fast a car is to crank tq output. WHy? crank tq is for one, not a unit of power. Think of it like this. IF i have a floor jack and i push down on it with 100lbs... does that mean it will be better than pushing 120lbs on it? WEll you need to know how long the pivet point is. 100lbs@2feet, os more tq than 120@1foot. Same with crank tq. RPM IS KEY! but instead of debating both, engineers use hp. which is the tq and rpm relationship. hp always wins
for example. Having 10,000lbs of tq@ 10rpms = 19hp. 100tq@8,000rpms= 152hp. There is no way that the 10,000tq motor will win a race.. why? GEARING! if in 1st gear u want to hit say 500rpms at the wheel (probably around 40mph). the 10,000tq motor will need to increase its rotation output by a factor of 1:50. that means that the tq output drops by a factor of 50. 10,000/50=200tq@wheel. The other car would need to REDUCE the rpms by a factor of 16, thus multiply the tq by 16. 100x16=1,600lbs so..
so what is the pt? in 1st gear, the 19hp motor outputs 200lbs of tq@500rpms@ the wheel. the 152hp motor produces 1,600lbs of tq@500rpms @ the wheel. notice 152/19=8. The 152 hp car produces 8 times the tq@ the same rpm. Notice that 1,600/200=8... doubling the hp will double the tq output @ the wheel ...HP ALWAYS WINS!
What this means is, hp output determines how much tq can be made at any given rpm shaft output. Its impossible to make a car faster without increasing hp (ignoring wt loss).
@JustAnotherKneeGrow well there is a girl with the tag 08WhiteCivic that is making about 260 whp on 8lbs. thats about 140whp jump. i would say thats pretty good.
Was this the same Si that you raced in your other video of the 1/8 mile race? If so, you have done some more tuning because in that race it was about even but here you blew him away! I have a silver 2006 lx with all hfp accesories except suspension but its an auto not manual. How has this kit done with auto trans that you know? I plan on getting this kit, from what I have seen from your videos, it gives awesome gains!
Yes it is the same Si i race on my other 1/8 mile race, but on that race i was only boosting 6psi and not fully tune, now the car is booting 8psi and is tune, so that is why i pull on him like that.
And from what i have read the kit also works just fine on the auto trans, but if you had a manual you will see a little bit better gains.
nice.. r18. only if that si was boosted but then again if it was then it should be compared to sti's and evo's. all in all nice r18.

If that R18 is boosted and the SI is stock. Easily.

197 torque vs 139tq
thats no comparison
to 197 hp vs 140hp
Torque is a huge difference baby

what car are you comparing that has 197 torque? I know its not an Si

So many haters...most of them don't know shit about turbo lol..
Thanks for the video.

I just have the TSI turbo, on this video boosting 8psi, and the megan racing downpipe and a 2.5 inch exhaust.. thats about it..

wtf are you two blabbing about. TQ and horsepower are linearly related. Only thing that matters here is gearing and where in the torque band you are.
