  • @Topdoginuk to play a song we can use any of the 7 chords in key of c ?

  • @raxsdon Use 6 of the 7 (leave out the B diminished) C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am

  • @Topdoginuk thanks

  • Bought the app, really good, but what if you are writing anything in a minor key? Is there something I am not seeing?

  • @digitaldogontour Sorry, I didn't explain, it doesn't cover the minor scale chords.

  • ooo i just saw ur other videos where u teach bout chords and i get that as well ! I recomend everyone who is interested in learning music theory to watch these series of videos. Thanks again

  • Ok i get that thanks one more question :As we can see on the chord wheel a C major chord would be created with C,F,G major and a C minor would be with db,eb,ab ?If so do u have tutorial how this 2 interact one another? Thank you so much great teacher

  • so for example if we have c chord we play the major or the minor notes at once ? is kinda hard for me to understand this because i do produce music only with software i dont play any instrument at all but i really need this to improve my production .A simple explanation on how we use this would be apprechiated thanks

  • @dzole201 If you are using the key scale of C major, the best chords to strum are known as the 1st, 4th & 5th. They are C chord then, F chord then the G7chord which then wants to resolve back to the C chord to finish or start the next section. Stick with the major chords for a 'happier' sounding song or, you can add minor chords for variety or more mionor chords for a sad sound. The chords progression of 1st, 6th, 2nd, 5th, 1st (C, Am, Dm, G7, C) is a good one to try out.

  • What represent the notes above each letter? is it like C (chord ) D(Chord) and so forth?

  • @dzole201 Yes!

  • @Topdoginuk So what are the 3 notes played in c (chord) c f and g? or thank you

  • Why is the audio disabled? I played a series of music theory videos without issue, but this one doesn't have any sound. I've checked all my settings.

  • @toobmeister1 I've just loaded the video to see if I can hear it. Yes I can so, I'm not sure what's up with the audio at your end. Give it another try. Are you using a mobile device? Sometimes there are issues with broadcasting speed and buffering. I hope it works out for 'ya eventually 'cos I'm not able to help much from this end.

    Thanks ;)

  • @Topdoginuk Thanks for the reply. I received a notice in my e-mail that you had replied. The video was attached. I could play it in Hotmail Active view with sound. When I went back to YouTube, no sound. Strange. Anyway, looks like I have a version that will work. Thanks for your help;

  • @toobmeister1 Ah! That's great that you have a version that plays the audio. I don't know why it doesn't on Youtube. If any other videos are the same, let me know and I'll look into it further. It maybe some setting in 'Control Panel' under 'Manage Audio Devices' and the volume setting/monitor. Also, it might actually be the adjustment control at the bottom of the actual video. It stays that way even if your computer volume is turned up. You have to have them both on!

    Thanks again.

    Tony ;)

  • Thank you very much for all the videos you sent. I find them very usefull.

  • thank you both for thanking each other and i will thank you both quit thanking each other ...thank you LOL seriously thanks for the wheel.

  • if the song im playing has chords G D A how do i transpose it down one step?

  • @Yokai671 The chart doesn't show that but, all you have to do (if you are using barre chords) is move them all down one fret towards the headstock. That'll give ya F#major key. On a piano you do the same, all down one key. Hope that helps. ;)

  • i appreciate every thing you have posted on YouTube being a guitar player for 4 years i have come to see i have skipped over i thank you for the time you spent

  • @alexismorche Thank you for taking the time out to express such kind words! ;)

  • Legend!!!! THIS VIDEO HAS HELPED ME MAKE SOME SERIOUS TECHNO!!!!!

  • Is there a web app or anything where I can find songs per chrods combinations ?

  • Thanks for the video!

  • @tomjiLovesMusic Thank you for taking time out to comment.

  • @tomjiLovesMusic

god bless for the sincere efoort you made , that made me learn to use relative minor

  • This was helpful...thank you.

  • @kitjank Thank you for your comment. I'm pleased the video was of some help. Good luck on your musical journey.

  • Is there a reason why the movable circle part does not "black out" the chords not in the key ? I don't know but it seems it might be easier to only see the chords in that triangle ? If I were to make one of these, would that be a viable option ?

also just thought I should mention that at 8:40 ish you mention the Key of A that the I IV V being A, D, and Eb, might be worth putting one of those little comment things on the screen to correct this

  • @deadlychickenxop Thanks for comment. Yeah, that would have been a good idea. I suppose someone could aways colour in the acetate with indelible ink in the area you suggest.

Thanks for pointing out the vocal mistake! The inclusion of them little speech bubbles don't seem to be working at the moment but, I will put one on when it is.

    Thanks. Tony ;)

  • this is great!

  • so how do you make minor chords as the key?

  • Thanks for this.I wish Uni had explained this as clearly as you just have...

  • how do u find the chords if the key is a minor

  • is this only for blues songs?

  • @willy346 No

  • Can you put minor chords as the key?

  • @mrjc12 Yes

  • @Topdoginuk : i am

  • @AliArsalan89 excellent videos, one question, is there any particular reason why minors dont figure as "key"? is it just for simplicity of the wheel?

  • @ElAlexxis

I don't know exactly, because in music school I've only had basic of chords, but maybe it's because of the scales.

A minor scale, always has a major parent. The names changes, but the last name doesn't change (this means that the minor uses the same amount of flats or sharps as their parent AKA major scale)

Example: A minor uses no sharps or flats, just like C major.

If you got a Major scale and you want to find the minor equivalent you need to move 3 semi-tones down.

  • Thank you for posting this.............this is very useful when deciding to purchase.

  • Hi, thanks i purchased the wheel and has helped. When you play the bar chord chord sequence, where do you go to for the relative minor?

  • thank you u helped me to unterstand this a lot

  • i also need 1 chord wheel thing......! plz any 1 let me know wr do i get .....?

  • @guitergiri03 amazon :)

  • I got mine from Sam Ash. I don't know how to use it yet, but Im happy that i am finding the tools that i need to help me learn a little more.

  • I've never seen that chord wheel thing before, but I like it. I always end up having to write out which chords belong to the key i'm using anyway, so I might buy this to save me time. Where did you get yours from?

  • its a book dude but all you need is the wheel u cn get it at google
