  • Great Airplane, that "Ol Shaky" Globemaster. Our unit supported the 61st MAW @ Hickam AFB during the late 60's and early 70's. I can still "hear" the loud squealing of the 124's brakes as they taxied around the ramps. It is profoundly sad to watch the color guard ceremony from 1963. The first group of what would become nearly 60,000 fine young Americans killed because of that stupid conflict. Not to mention the half million wounded. I salute every one of them.

  • @dontmesswithbill23 I had forgotten about the C124 brakes, they HOWLED. It is tragic about the 60000 troops we lost there, but at least we learned a lesson. Wait!! maybe not. That's what happens when Daddy

protects you. The rich kids don't have to go.

  • A lot of dead people......on what reason?

  • where did you find this, is it from someone in your family?

  • @mafed451 I am not sure but I think I replied to you some time ago. But if not hte answer is that I shot this film myself when I was in Viet Nam

  • Rest in Peace fallen soldiers.

  • Took a while, but 'ol Shakey' finally broke ground, Fascinating vintage piece. Thanks.
