Dave it impresses me that you can fly your models in all that wind. It's usually windy here in VT and keeps me from learning basic control. I need a gymnasium to learn in !!!!
It needs to be no faster for me, and I like the way the tail rotor works now as torque could be a problem in yawing with it down a little. On the real ch 53, they aim em up. LOL.
Hey Dave, what exactly does the throttle hold switch do and why would you use it? I just bought a CP2 and my first flight will be sometime today. Any advice? - Andrew
It usually is on the right side of the tx and used for low throttle settings for auto rotating. The 3d switch also holds the throttle, but this way it is wide open, and the pitch is only changed with the left stick for 3d. If your learning, do not ever use these til you can comfortably fly around without any problems. Study my 9heli tips for more.
They have to be trimmed with the trim switch on the first flight at EYE level. Then it wont spin til you turn it off and turn it back on. It has to be re-trimmed for hands off flying every time. That is truly a bummer. I just let it spin and hold the button down til it stops spinning. Then you can fly nicely.
Another interesting and entertaining vid by NightFlyyer. Great piloting in that wind. That rotor 'biting' sound these helis make during some aggressive passes is just wicked!
I'll have to say they are well worth the $20-$28 they are going for.
I can't count the amount of times mine crashed and kept going. It finally bit the dust yesturday after the charging connector broke off the circuit board. (yes, I got alot of charges and flying time out of the little sucker)
Yes loball540. IT holds nice slow rolls and inverted flight excellantly with throttle hold on. It is so darn windy around here most of the time and I may make a demo but my skills aren't as important as the data I'm trying to get across you folks. I appreciate the kudos.
wow, nice flying you have really mastered flying r/c helis. Have you ever tried flying the HoneyBee inverted? That would be a cool vid =) 3-4 more days till i get my HB =))))
Hi Dave. First of all I would say that I am your fan and I love all you video about rc models. On all you videos I didn't see yet you flying the Micro Mosquito RC Helicopter from interactive toy. I would like to know if the forward and backward command realy works on that heli. Are you going to test it? Regards and congratulations
Hi Inaresse, Thank you for the kudos. I doubt I will spend $69 for another coaxial heli, but you never know. Ive been disappointed with the tiny props on the tail that are supposed to move you fore & aft. Due to wind effects, it moves about 2 feet and stops, they don't sustain forward flight.
Dave, this is what I heard too. The tail motor shoul be a little stronger I think. So, I think if we analyse cost / benefit, the picco-z would be a very good option, don't you think? Thanks a lot!!
