  • man i dont know if i want one if these for my next daily driver or if i want a powerwagon.... practicality vs. durability! haha how you liking the silverado?

  • @chevyoutlaw44 Yeah, I love it dude! If you need something bigger than the 1500, get a 2500...

  • chevy still doin good?

  • @LELANDsp602944 Oh yeah man, it's got 50k miles on it now. It's startin to get little creaks an squeaks in it, but nothing significant.

  • Bad ass set up, i have an 02 with the same tires and tire size and i love them, i have 20s but they are polished aluminum!! they tear it up for sure though

    Nice truck

  • @Khowell0947 Thanks man! I love em!!!

  • what we doing you pot new tayer

  • dang nice truck wish i had one!!!

  • @SouthernPride145 Thanks bro! It's served me well :)

  • Just got mine balanced today.

  • @SuperRetroTech Yeah, need to get mine balanced and rotated too...

  • It is so clean u can see him in the paint

  • it looks good and sounds great, but i dont like the new silverado. the 06 and below were my favorites...

  • looks nice i like the stt tires and the truck sick

  • One thing I never got, I've watched all your videos, watch one atleast each day...Why do you have side steps you're a tall dude lol, not being a dick but it's always been a question in my mind, it looks good and all but yeah.

  • @CHEVROLETPOWER89 I like the look, plus, if you're able to get above your seat and sit down in it, instead of sliding into it, your leather will last exponentially longer. My father does auto interiors, so I learned all those little habitual traits that ruin your interior early in life. I try to avoid all the unnecessary wear and tear I can :)

  • @CHEVROLETPOWER89 That explain's why the leather in my 2004 and 2011 is all messed up thankyou I learn something new every day. I cant have them cause I'd spend to much money replacing them dude to bogging and offroading or tearing them off on a stump.

  • NICE MAN THAT IS THE SHIT THAT IS A NICE ASS CHEY

  • I had to take the mud flaps off mine cuz they rub a lil if the wheels are turned all the way an im bouncing on the trails im runnin 305/65/17 pro comp extreme all terrains with 17x9 pro comp extreme wheels very wide hey stick out a good 3-4 inches- 07 chevy silverado z71 5.3L stock z85 suspension

  • @MrDETROIT93 Yeah, it's all about the offset and wheel backspacing.....up to a point anyways, unless your tire is just too big LOL

  • Nice, they would look better on my truck. 98 Silverado z71 extended cab.

  • @billy25685 Naw...pretty sure they look just fine on mine ;)

  • when your wheels are fully turned how much clearance do you have from tire to wheel well? Is there room for mud flaps?

  • @MyTrucker26 I didn't put mud flaps on mine, so I can't say for sure on that. The tires clear well...

Talk to your local tire dealer if you need specific information on your application. That's what I did...

  • Hey nice job on your truck, looks great. What offset are your wheels? Did you do any trimming in your wheel wells? They gotta be pretty tight in there if not eh? Would you recommend a wheel with on offset of +20? Thanks Jason

  • @MyTrucker26 All info in vid description ;)

  • cool, thanks for the help. love your truck man.

  • @thexfactor5 Sure! No problem! Hope some of the info was beneficial :)

  • whoops, nevermind, 20's obviously.

  • Awesome truck! Really like the grille...what kind is it? Did those tires fit without a lift? What size wheels??

  • @thexfactor5 It's a T-Rex grille part # 54111. The tires required a 2" leveling kit...

  • im still waiting to see what them tires will do

  • @goodoleboysracin They do REAL well stayin perfect sittin in my driveway :P

  • @rekjavicxxx how much did it cost per tire?

  • @ChristianJames6759 Like $1300 for the set....

  • @rekjavicxxx for 5?

  • @ChristianJames6759 Naw, for 4 tires....$325/ea

  • I love Cooper STT's, Awesome tire!

  • @ChevyTrucks383 Oh yeah! I'm lovin em! Definitely going with them again when it's time for new tires.....which might be a while since these are wearing so well...

  • @rekjavicxxx yeah i like the looks of them really aggresive......and i've heard they wear nicely

  • yeah i cant li it is nicer then mine i got a ford but my ford will pull the horns off of hell lol but u got rims and all on urs idont got stock i got a super chip in mine with 36 12 .50s on it

  • sorry it keeps sending it came with the 18 inch wheels do u have any idea what the biggest size tires I can run are

  • @ChaseHouston123 With the leveling kit, you can try and squeeze 33's under there, but it depends on the offset of your wheel and the OD of the tire. I picked the Discoverer STT since it has the lowest over OD (32.4")

  • I have the appearance package which came with the 18 ,

  • I just upgraded to the 2011 crewcab z714x4 I put the ready lift 2.5'' leveling kit.. I have the appearance package which e

  • get some mud on it man

  • @xMUDD1G3Rx Dang sure not gonna sink it like I did my last truck LOL This one is too nice ;)

  • I just bought a 2009 z71 crew cab and i was going to lift it 2.5 inches and put 20 inch x9 rims with 33'' tires. But i looked at your set up and its the same thing. And on this video your tires look like they are bulging and kind of look like low profiles. Were they not aired all the way up.I ask the guy i bought my lift from and he said i should go with a 20x10.What's your opinion.By the way sweet truck.

  • @Gracefulize Dude, I did weeks of research and calling and looking. This was about the only 33" tire/20" wheel combo that would fit under the front of the GM truck. Ya gotta do the leveling kit in the front.

As far as tires go, the STT is the lowest overall O/D 33" mud terrain tire available (32.4"). Checked out the Toyo M/T and others, but they were all taller. As far as sidewall, yeah, it's lower profile, but you're wantin rim without lift, so guess that's just a sacrifice.

  • Yeah it looks way better with those rims and tires on there looks like a beast.lol nice truck

  • @REDT4R1 Thx bro! I agree :)

  • i got a 3 inch leveling for my 08 sierra z71 4x4 some one told me to not install it that i will ruin my fron drive shafts do you know anything about that????????????????or does anybody know

    ???

  • @PANCHO686 Dude, I don't think they'd sell something if it consistently tore up OEM components. I have the 2" leveling kit, and haven't had any problems at all....

  • @rekjavicxxx yeah true,,,,,,thancks for the add..ill be posting videos of my z71 as i upgrade it i just bought it so now i am at stock EVERYTHING

  • @PANCHO686 Yeah man....keep me posted! Love to see how folk's trucks turn out :)

  • @rekjavicxxx i will...thanks for responding so fast....have fun out their ...in that beutifull truck of yours..

  • @PANCHO686 No prob dude!! Gonna try and do more vids of the truck soon....hopefully some pretty cool stuff :D

  • that grill looks really nicee

  • @iiLUVy0S3LiiN Thx!! I'm pretty partial to it! Glad ya liked it :)

  • How much did these tires run you? they look pretty mean. Do they stick out of the wheel well?

  • @scooterhooks It was $2500 for the full package. Because of the offset of the wheel, they don't really stick out too bad. Pretty much what ya see in the vid :)

  • @rekjavicxxx was that 2500 for rims and tires or just 4 tires? i already got the 20's i just need the rubber

  • @scooterhooks I think it was $1300 for just the tires....

  • how much for the rims and tires? and was there any lift needed?

  • @StuningRedneck It was $2500 for wheels, tires, mounted and balanced.

Yeah, it's got the 2" leveling kit on the front :)

  • Can you put tires like that on the stock 20" rims? I have the same truck but the tires are like car tires and it is time for a change. I just want something a little more aggresive, maybe not that aggresive. I was just wondering if I could put more aggresive tires on the stock 20"s? Please excuse my ignorance.

  • @jordanjcm I'm not sure of the specs on the stock wheels. I put all the specs (offset, backspace, etc) in the description, so take those to your tire shop where you intend to purchase and ask if they'll match up. Or you could probably find specs on stock wheels on the truck forums somewhere....

  • those are the new tires from the burnt rubber video decent looks nice

  • @dubzz1 Haha, glad ya picked up on that. There's a timeline happenin here ;)

Thanks for the props!! I really like the look too

  • About how much dose the 2" leveling kit cost$ installed on a truck like that ??

  • @g00dstuff101 I think it was like $360....

  • Love the truck, but not a fan of those rails at all

  • @Copelipper1 Yeah....can't have it quite perfect for everybody. Needed something to hold down those bed caps anyway :)

  • Is that a custom dark pink, or factory?

  • @jordanjcm Factory Sport Red. Unique to the '07 year model :)

  • @jordanjcm factory

  • @ryansisthebest .........??

  • how wide are those 20's im thinkn bout geting some and dont know wether to go with 9's or 10's

  • @benellihunter21 They are 9's. All the specs are in the vid details.

  • so if i were to get 3in would the front be higher then the back and make it uneven?

  • @dctx1 No, you'd still have to do the leveling kit to get the front even with, or higher than the back....

  • Comment removed

  • @dctx1 Yea, it lifts the front about 2"

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks nice truck btw i like the color.

  • @dctx1 Thanks man....I really kinda wanted that color (Sport Red) when I was looking for the truck. Had to look far and wide to find it ;)

  • Hey how much was it for the tires, rims and lift in total?

  • @dctx1 The tire/wheel combo was about $2500 and the leveling kit installed was about $350...

  • Comment removed

  • also, are these tires good for towing?

    thanks

  • @gmctruckin Well, not exactly sure what ya mean by "good for towing" but they do rob horsepower, if that's what you're asking. I'll send ya a vid to see the difference ;)

  • @gmctruckin They handle GREAT though! I can drive 80 in the snow no prob. Take corners as fast as I need to as well :)

  • how many miles you think youll get out of those tires? Im thinking about getting the same ones on my 03 yukon

  • @gmctruckin I've already got 20k miles on em, and I can barely even see any wear. I keep em rotated every 6k miles, so they're wearing pretty even. I'll DEFINITELY go with that tire again!!!

  • how much road noise is there on these tires?

  • @Itskillintime Not bad at all when I first got them. There is a little bit now, but not near what you'd think from an aggressive tire like that :)

  • @rekjavicxxx thanks man, i was just askin because i like having that road noise but i think im gonna go with these tires, how well do you like them ?

  • @Itskillintime Yeah!! I'll DEFINITELY go with them again :D

  • Got the same fourwheeler in black , with the same Mud Lite XTR's haha

  • Dude, kick ass truck. How much did all of that run you, truck and all?

  • @broskiman478 Thanks bro!! I've got about $46k in the truck I suppose. Lots of little stuff adds up.....

  • Beautiful truck. I love it!

  • @06ChevyDuramaxDiesel Thanks!! I'm in love with it too! :)

  • Just a put a new set on my truck two days ago , i did everything i could to kill the old ones and they wouldnt die.

  • @Mrchevyman208 That's what I like to hear!! They are wearing amazing! Not much tread loss at all. I'm definitely sold on another set.....if I ever need another set LOL

  • Ive had these tires on my silverado for 5 years absolutely love them. Did you have to put torsion keys on it or did they fit stock?

  • @Mrchevyman208 The new body style do not have torsion bars, so I had to put the 2" leveling kit on the truck. Just like you said, I absolutely love them!!! :) Virtually NO wear after 11k miles!

  • shit man now thats a chevy. nice truck

  • @allcoonsmustdie Thanks bro!! I'm lovin it!! :)

  • have you tested those tires in the mud yet ?

  • A little bit. I haven't had to do any crazy hardcore stuff yet, but I've done enough to know I'm pretty confident on getting out when I have to ;)

  • Beautiful truck man...Just beautiful.

  • Hey thanks!!! Tryin to keep it clean ;)

  • Well you succeed my man :D

  • i live in MN how do u think those tires would work in extreme cold snow and ice?

  • Funny you should mention that. It snowed today (like the first time in years in TX) and I was driving home from work in AWD passin everybody like they were sitting still. Not traction probs at all! Hydroplaning is virtually a non-issue. It's a heavy tire, but tracks amazing!!

  • i like your rims and tires. looking at buying identical GMC with Vortec Max. any info u have on vortec 6000 HO would be useful. rims standerd?

  • Haven't done much with the 6.0L. I know the additional power over the 5.3L would be nice. They spec them at 367HP at the crank as I recall....

As far as tires and wheels, they're aftermarket. All the specs are in the vid description...

  • i think i will have to take a look at those tires. i think the gmc would look good with them and i need a good tire were i live. do u have any vids of u wheeling with new stt tires.

  • Nothin real serious. Been tryin to take care of my baby and not sink it LOL

Did actually get some snow footage today though....posting it up in a min....

  • what would u expect to get out of a vortec 6000 ho at the tires. how much hp could i get out of it tuning the comp. or polishing the throtle body. and stuff. feet of snow up here in mn. u want a snow test come here.

  • With intake, exhaust and a tune you should get at least 325RWHP with regular tires. Not sure if you'd get quite that much with an M/T tire though...

  • with stt yours wha like 241 right. i want at least 300 with 6000. i would really like a 8100 but they dont male them anymore. alot of people say the 6000 is a good pullng moter is that true. i thought that it would be more hp. i wonder what my hemi would make with stuff added. its 390 hp standerd.

  • The new 6.2L they're putting in the Silverado's is a BAAAAD motor. It's makin 403 at the crank! Tried to find one, but the dealer said there wasn't one within 1000 miles of here :(

  • i kinda a m a 6000 fan. but i have heard of the 6.2. i wonder how it will hold up to abuse and longevity. compared the the 5.3 6.0. i kinda miss the old 5.7 liter. :(

  • do u like the 4 speed tranny they put in those 5.3s?

  • It's alright, but the shifts are just a loooong way apart, which makes it a dog outta the hole and bogs at certain speeds like between 50 and 60 when you're going too fast to downshift to 1st, but not enough RPM's to hit hard in 2nd. 6 speed would be much nicer that way you're always in the powerband...

  • do u have the ltz

  • Naw....I think it's like the LT2

  • the 6000 is supposed to be bulletproof.

  • I have a clack 08 1500 ext cab z71 like yoours.. I got the 18s stock on it as of now and rough country 2" leveling kit... as it says you do to? and you fit 33"x12.5".. I did know you could go that big without cutting fender well..whats the secret? also noticed you dont have mudflaps where mine do.. I am was just getting ready to order some 275-65-18s cooper stt to put on my stock.... but now debating since i seen this video

  • There are a couple of factors you need to look at when getting tires/wheels. One is the offset and backspace which I included in the vid description. The other major factor is the O/D of the tire. Just because it's a 33 tire doesn't mean all 33's are the same. The STT was the lowest overall O/D mud terrain tire available in a 20" wheel. It's actually on 32.4" so that's a key factor in clearance. Just check w/ur local tire shop for advice on your application.

  • @GenHalter Hey man i was wondering what you did with your truck? Did you go with the 18's or the 20's. I am having the same problem that you did in deciding which to go with. The 20's look great and wouldnt rub on highway but i do alot of off roading following oil rigs around and rough terrain might rub a little. If you could get back to me and let me know your results. Thanks Jason

  • I was looking at 22inch rims for my 09 Silverado they were going to run 32 1/4 inch tall. I belive 275/50/22 You get no rub with these what soever? I was going to do a 2 and 4 drop on mine tho.

  • That's a little different scenario...Mine are terrain tires and it sounds like you're doing a low profile. You'll need to talk to a reputable tire shop and ask them what they think.

The only time I get a little rub is when I'm doing an extreme angle turn or reverse. Just barely rubs the fenderwell grommet...

  • looks nice. how do you like the tires. im looking at doing the same tires or mickey thompson ATZ.

  • I LOVE the tires/wheels. They look awesome and do great in the mud. They're also very quiet. Gas mileage sucks, but I guess that's what happens when you go to a large MT tire.

  • @rekjavicxxx I put the same tires on my truck but i only have 32x10.50x16 but i didnt knotice my gas mileage go down all that much

  • yeah but he went from a tiny stock 17 inch tire to a 33x12.5.. a lot more thread on the ground is why his gas mileage is big difference

  • Very nice setup! I've got the single cab of your truck, same color and everything. But I need to get some of them wheels!!

  • Thanks bro! I bet you love your truck!! I know I sure like mine :) The wheel/tire combo really makes it stand out now

  • Now just take the stupid ass plastic piece off the front....

  • Dude your truck is badass! I have a truck similar to your and was wondering what brand of leveling kit you bought.

  • No clue on the brand. Just took it to the 4x4 shop and they installed it. Sorry....

  • nice i just got the same tires on my f 150. love them but a little hard on the road

  • They are great tires! Gas mileage sucks. Awesome in the mud though :)

  • how much r they 4 a set?

  • $2500 for tires and wheels, mounted and balanced....

  • ahh not as bad as i though, sweet tyres anyway mate

  • Hey man sick tires amazing truck!

  • Thanks!!!

  • nice dude im planning to do the same once i trade my 2008 silverado 4.8 for a 2007 5.3 silverado

  • You'll like the 5.3L a lot more. I drove a 4.9L and it just didn't have a lot of power....

  • dang man i must have missed this vid, hadn't seen it yet...those look good, sucks bout the gas mileage tho, looks like it raised your truck a bit too...thats the only thing i dislike about our stock trucks, front bumpers are too low for me. lol, i think when you get z71 it should automatically be so much higher than others.

  • Yeah, the 1500 is just a bit low. That truck does have a nice stance to it now ;)

I'd like for it to have the clearance the 2500 HD's have. Those trucks just look a lot better from the factory....

  • Very nice truck men, congrats.

  • Thanks bro! I washed it yesterday and those wheels really make that truck pop! The finish and shine is unbelievable!

  • Those look really nice. I'm trying to decide between the STT's or the new Kumho KL71's for my 4wd titan. They are both supposed to be pretty quiet for a M/T tire.

  • Oh yeah, I just checked out some of those Kumho's the other day....37's on 24's Looked super sick!! Love the lug pattern on there too. I've been pleased with the STT's...gas mileage just dropped dramatically though :(

  • Yeah I expect to lose about a mile or two per gallon going from stockers to M/T's due to the weight. One thing that might have affected your's so much is that chevys only have like a 31 or 32" tire on stock don't they? My titan has 33's on it already so they are already pretty big and heavy so hopefully I won't lose too much mpg. Most of the guys on the titan forums lose about 1 or 2 going from stock to 33" M/T's. Now a lift and 35's is a hole other story! HAHA

  • I had 33" Maxxis Buckshots on there from the day I bought the truck brand new from the dealership (only tires I ever ran on there; takeoffs from my previous truck). I got between 17.5 - 19.5MPG with those. Went to the STT's (same height tire) and it dropped to bout 12.5 - 13MPG. MAJOR LOSS!

  • Oh wow, yeah that is a HUGE loss. I didn't realize you had buckshots on it, I was thinking you were talking about going from stockers to those tires. Did you have the 20's on when it was getting good mpg? Maybe it was the big wheels? Anyways, you have some nice vids of your truck and I love the color. I have a few vids of my titan mudding and one of it drag racing at Gainesville. You need some more vids of the M/T's in action though! LOL

  • The Buckshots only went up to an 18" wheel, so that's why I went to the STT's...wanted the 20" wheel. OD was the same though, so I'm confident it was the track width and the ply rating. Makes for a MUCH heavier tire. Drag is much higher too.

Since I sank my '04 Crew Cab, I've made a pact not to get this one muddy, so no mudding for me unless it's some crazy fluke deal LOL

I'll check our your vids...they sound awesome!

  • That's wierd that the STT's are that much heavier. I thought the buckshots were around an 8 ply themselves? Are your new ones an E load rated tire? If so then they will be super heavy because they're like a 10 ply. Might be a softer compound too which cause more drag.

Yeah I love to go out and play. just do like I do and go real easy and slow into stuff at first until you find out if it's safe or not. I don't go flying into anything, that's how you destroy a truck quick.

  • Haha, now that you mention it, I do recall flying off into both those places where I got stuck! That and a lil alcohol comsumption....definitely not a good combo! LOL

  • Yeah that'll do it everytime. And alcohol always helps it along. HAHA

  • how much did the tires cost? i got 20in rims for my truck and i want the same tires so ...

  • They were right around $300/ea. Definitely not the cheapest 20in mud tire you can buy, but it was the shortest overall height mud tire in a 20" rim. None of the others would have cleared...

  • that sucks! well if you had them and they were maxed out it would ride like shit you would feel every bump in the road, thats how mine rides.

  • did you have to max your torsion bars up?

  • The new body style Chevy's don't use the torsion bars like the 06 and previous, so there's no cheap solution....had to do the 2" leveling kit on the front. Was about $300

  • looks great!

  • Thooose are nice!

  • looks good! i had stt's on my old truck and they would get you through anything lol. after 10k miles they still looked almost brand new. i was wondering, whats the width of your rim and if you knew what the offset and backspacing were

  • Hey, sorry for the delay on the response. The wheels are Ultra Predator type 286/287 20x9 with +15 offset. Had to do that offset to fit it under the fenderwells. Only have rubs when tires are cut and in a bind...

  • yeah man they are a great tire they have a soft rubber compound so try to avoid the burnouts. i wish i would have and they would have lasted a lot longer. and man that sucks about the monitoring system stuff. i bet that can get old.

  • man i miss my stts...keep them rotated and balanced or they will go to shit fast

  • Sweet! Were they a pretty good tire?

I'm going to baby em and not get too crazy with the burnouts. Hopefully they will last a long time.

The rough part about rotating tires on the new trucks is the air pressure monitoring system which makes each tire/wheel location specific, so rotation is a beating :(

  • Your truck looks great. Great choice of wheels, and definitely a good choice of tires.
