To all those saying QotSA aren't technical... have you even heard their stuff post-rated-r ? SftD? EV? Misfit Love is one of the most technical songs out..with about 5 layers of guitar, not to mention kick-ass drumming and bass. It's the type of song only a band like QotSA could create/play successfully. So Panasper, please think twice before saying "QotSA...they're not technical or anything"...

there is a difference between playing really technical music that sounds like shit, i.e. overshredding, and playing really technical music that is also fucking kick ass, such as Primus, Necrophagist, Death, etc.

You can certainly play great music without being a great shredder, but you can only go so far without technicality and theory IMO
