omg too tooo toooo much blasting. you cant even enjoy the song for crying out loud . i hate to hear them play a ballad. if they tone it down someone might enjoy what they are playing let alone understanding what the song is.
and i have this in my camera also and yes im an easton alumni brooks work hard with kids that barely knew how to play an instrument at the beginning of the year... what yall feel the see is that the music education was gone with no middle schools around to teach like we was taught so yea you have 1st year students on horns ....and i say they sound damn good knowing where they started from doing the summer i help with the band when Brooks was there.
Not going to lie. . .the 2nd song sounds good. However, one thing I noticed about NO bands, rarely does a song they play sound like the original. I looked up Don't change by Phyllis. . .man how the HELL did Easton get this from that? Same thing with Jumpstart that walker plays. . .but they do be sounding good, though.
Charlie B has my alma mater loud but it's not the style that Torregano worked hard for. I'm a c/o 95 cat and this sound is contradictory to what Easton was known for. Which was intonation, quality, clean attacks and releases, and balance. This is just raggedy as hell... Very little musicianship at all. Exhibit A: 1:34-1:42. The fate of New Orleans bands.... *sigh*
That's very true babyboy48, but do you know it's hard to tell that about Easton when T was in charge because yall were so small. It's hard to pick up on musicianship with a 30 piece band playing in a crowd of thousands of people.
Now unless you were a member or heard Easton's concert bands than you wouldn't be aware of this fact.
By they way I played under T's brother at gregory in 01, before both them negroes starting moving from band to band!
NO SIR! We were anything but small during that time. Grant it we were NOT the largest band then (Kennedy & 35 were) however we were able to outplay, go jab for jab with the best of them! My senior year we marched right at 100. And yes not only was I a member of the marching band, I was also a member of the concert, symphonic, and the jazz band. We able to outplay you with Sousa marches in the stands, and were still able to pull 1's at concerts! We were OUTSTANDING! Much better musicians!
@babyboy478 Brooks didn't have a feeder system like Torregano, Torregano's older brother was teaching kids at Gregory, who were in turn going to Easton.
The Song is called Don't won"t to change the World.....Its by Phyliss Hyman......I arranged that song over ten years ago. Charlie B heard it on my computer and asked could he have it.
i was in the band for mr brooks at marshall from 98-2000 and he is the best young band director around. he took easton from pre katrina garbage to one of the best bands in new orleans.
Easton has always played with musicianship, and when you actually play techincally difficult songs and with musicianship that means sacrificing volume!(when you're already a small band)
The year prior to Katrina Easton was making a comeback having musicianship and volume!
On a uniform note, I'm not a fan of having knight helmets when we are Fighting Eagles; quote me on that. Lets try to stay positive in continuing what the school is about remembering the Blue Ribbon. This is not just some guy speaking about Easton.
As a fellow alumni, the blowing loud is not a musical satisfaction. In the case of Torregano, he was about being clear and musical before being strong. I do like the idea of our intense fire when playing.
first of all it wasnt me that made the comment somebody needed my account to upload a video now i was gonna delete the comment until until you called me sloppy. but imma leave this foolishness alone.
