@Baker090925 A new career field recently opened up. Special Tactics Officers (STO) act as commissioned combat controllers. Additionally, they can also lead PJ's. JTAC is actually a certification for what aircraft you can control. It's not a job. i.e. TACP's can become JTAC certified like CCT's. If you're serious about being an officer and going into STO I would suggest you look at the Academy. They have a lot of programs that feed into the special forces world. Best of luck to you!
the vision requirements are either 20/70 or 20/80 like swif33 said. If you're below the eyesight thing just join in as something that has short tech school and get them to send you to the eye surgery. That's what I'm doing going in as Security Forces until I recover from surgery then transferring to CCT. Don't take the training lightly it is no joke the PAST test req are just a bare minimum to get into indoc course. You can find course req online to show you what you'll have to do to graduate it
@hawaiiftbll security forces may not of been the best choice lol just got back from tech. hope your team isnt full of imature mental cases. but considering our captin comended us for NOT having underage drinkers two weeks in a row your screwed
A couple ?'s. What would the minimum eyesight required for being a combat controller? And what is the basic requirements for joining?-->like push-ups, laps, swimming etc.
@bf9142ftw.......... not sure on the eye site thinks its worst 20/80, but im training 4 cct now and shippin out MAR 01, 2011 for basic but its atleast : 2 20m underwater swims, 500m surface swim under 14:00, 1.5 mile run in under 10:45, at least 6 pull-ups (dead hang), 45 push-ups, 45 sit-ups. but we exceed these requirements because u'll die in indoc and ATC if u meet the min req, cuz its brutal.
@swif33 Nice swif good luck man. I'm leaving MAR 08, 2011 for basic wish I could go directly into the CCT job instead of Security Forces first but I'll just make sure to use the time to be super prepared for indoc.

@Baker090925 No. They can lead combat controller teams but they don't operate as JTACs in the field.
