The cheats have indeed been applied -- take a look at the full guide on my web site for more details. The purpose of my guide was to maximise how long you can play on a single credit. Most (if not all) of the guide is still relevant if you're not using the cheat codes.
in fact forget what i said before becuae you are definately playing a strange version of the game. this is not a guide to the original game or fake playstation game because both include the "baddies" escaping from their bubbles much quicker. and your guide relies heavily on the user having a "yellow Sweet." so in general its just nonsense
Awesome dude, this was my favourite game ever. I really love to play it sometimes again. But when i saw that bottle-thingy i was like: OMYGOD GRAB IT! Back in the days i was dying to get a bottle!! lol
Normally I would have grabbed it as quick as I could, but it wouldn't make for a very good explanation of how to clear the level (particularly as this is a difficult one) so I had to resist! :-)

I was stuck, and found this vid. Just did it on the DS - hard as hell to find that void in the wall, but a 2p to blow bubbles helped immensely.
