  • This problem on the i855GM is a mix of graphic driver issue and a kernel issue. It first appeared in the 2.6.28 kernel and it has yet (as of the 2.6.39 kernel) to be fixed.

  • I guess it's a graphics driver issue,try to download it and manually install new version,
