I like the horn flash that the trumpets do at 2:08. I can imagine that that takes some practice in order to not fling your horn into the person marching in front of you.

MSU does have a a great band. I'll acknowledge that. but as far as the "best marching band out there" well then you're wrong there. everyone in the big ten and the world knows that the best damn band in the land belongs to PURDUE UNIVERSITY!!!!

I can vouch for the MSU Marching Band, which ROCKS!! UM's band sounds horrible because of their marching style, which makes their instruments bounce around. That naturally impacts the band's sound.

I love the drumline and Tuba's in particular in MSU's band, you can't take your eyes off either group! Their visuals are awesome!!!

"Cockroach stompers"? Not funny and real immature.Obviously, you are referring to the signature, often imitated, 200+ beat per minute entry and the "lock at the top" stride. Volume means nothing, if it is out of tune and the music is overplayed badly. Everybody thinks their fav,even HS bands and the DCI groups, are "the best". Arguing about it is, worthless. Ask an unbiased person, if you can find one.

Their sound is dreadful with all of the stomping on their heels. Their instruments bounce all over the place. If their football team wasnt any good, you wouldnt even "hear" of the michigan Band.

Well as an unbiased Michigander of a collegiate marching band (WMU Bronco Marching Band) who doesn't really have a favorite in either of the two schools... I'd say you're both friggen sweet. Michigan State has a FAR superior drumline, probably the best in the collegiate world and probably more precision. However the UofM band produces a far greater sound overall. Neither of you are perfect. Although I'd be willing to be bet if you combined the two... that'd be pretty bad ass.

Hahaha....um no. The only reason that it looks bad is because the sound is about 1.5 seconds behind the video. Search for "Spartan marching band series" and related vids and you'll see what it really looks like.
