Florida & Texas should've been playing for the National Championship in 2008 and 2009. Texas got screwed in 2008 and in 2009 Florida got screwed when Carlos Dunlap was suspended against 'Bama in the SEC Championship game. Add Dunlap and thats a Florida win, I guarantee it.

One of my favorite games...even though we lost. At least it was to a program I can respect. Somebody needs to set these teams up to play every other year or every 3rd year. That would be some fun- and the Texas fanbase (for the most part) is totally class. GO BUCKS!

I had no expectations going into this game. I expected Texas to win. Very good showing against a team that on paper looked a lot better than OSU. When Herron got that TD with 2 minutes to go, I was like, Oh. My. God.
If you lived around SEC fans, you wouldn't call it such a stupid generalization. Alabama fans are terrible, and I mean literally every single one of them here. The only RATIONAL Bama fans I've met are friends of mine that go there. You can look at the preseason rankings all you want, listen to how people talked about Texas at the beginning. There was no benefit from any commentator I heard, McShay Kiper or Herbstreit. They all knew we'd be average this year. OSU on the other hand gets praised.
@TexasMade20 - OSU got praised because they won the rosebowl when they were the underdog(I think) and had a lot of returning starters. Ohio State only has one loss, they aren't a terrible team even though there's definitely some problems.

All the Texas fans I've met seem pretty cool. We weren't given much of a chance in this game and we sure played our asses off. Better team did win though. Maybe a rematch for the National Championship in 2011? Good luck Horns.

Not really - the correct call was first down Texas. True, it was very close, but replays showed the nose of the ball getting far enough and to take away the first down would have been a bad call.
Really the only blantantly bad call in the series was in 2005 when Henry Melton scored a TD at the goal line on 4th and 1 and it was incorrectly called short. But Texas got a safety the next play anyway so it didn't even matter
this was a good game and as a buckeye, texas deserved to be in the NC that year but they got screwed by the BCS. We would have beat OU in that game it they had switched spots
What's so funny about yankee1653 is that he has his facts wrong. True, the refs did call a roughing the passer penalty on OSU in the 3rd quarter that wasn't a good call. But, it was on a 1st down play that Texas picked up 8 yds down to OSU's 26. The penalty put the ball at the 14. The next play, Colt strolled in for a TD standing up . The roughing call as pretty insignificant and was not the difference in forcing Texas to punt on a TD drive.
This was a great game. The referees gave the game to Texas though unfortunately in the 3rd quarter with the bs helmet to helmet/roughing the passer call on one of Ohio State's defensive ends. That allowed what would have been a punt to turn into a short field for a touchdown for Texas. Ohio State won that game. Without the 7 free points for Texas, the real score was 21-17, Ohio State. This coming from a neutral Georgia Tech fan.

In the '94 orange bowl, Nebraska had the ball and the play ended with 1 second left and the clock operator let the last second run off. NU fans were livid until the ref came out and said (correctly) that the play shouldn't have ended. And then NU missed the kick anyway. Same situation. Hypocrites.

If you lived around SEC fans, you wouldn't call it such a stupid generalization. Alabama fans are terrible, and I mean literally every single one of them here. The only RATIONAL Bama fans I've met are friends of mine that go there. You can look at the preseason rankings all you want, listen to how people talked about Texas at the beginning. There was no benefit from any commentator I heard, McShay Kiper or Herbstreit. They all knew we'd be average this year. OSU on the other hand gets praised.

Mind you, this is going off of what I have seen, but USC when we played them in the Rose Bowl that year, had some of the WORST fans I have ever been around. There were times where I never wanted to watch the game, just wanted to kick some teeth in. The SEC has way more humble fans around here than USC does, Ohio State as well.

I'm a die-hard Buckeye fan and this was a classic. It's too bad we didn't come out on top. As far as people saying TX is better than OSU, well that's just a bunch of bullshit. TX fans were scared as hell on the 4th down pass play on the game winning drive. Ref's gave TX the spot, could have gone either way. 2005, dropped TD pass by Bucks TE costs the Bucks big, allowing Young to do his thing to win the game. The Bucks could easily be up 3-0 in the series, just didn't do it in crunch-time in 2 gm

Not really - the correct call was first down Texas. True, it was very close, but replays showed the nose of the ball getting far enough and to take away the first down would have been a bad call.
Really the only blantantly bad call in the series was in 2005 when Henry Melton scored a TD at the goal line on 4th and 1 and it was incorrectly called short. But Texas got a safety the next play anyway so it didn't even matter

What's so funny about yankee1653 is that he has his facts wrong. True, the refs did call a roughing the passer penalty on OSU in the 3rd quarter that wasn't a good call. But, it was on a 1st down play that Texas picked up 8 yds down to OSU's 26. The penalty put the ball at the 14. The next play, Colt strolled in for a TD standing up . The roughing call as pretty insignificant and was not the difference in forcing Texas to punt on a TD drive.

This was a great game. The referees gave the game to Texas though unfortunately in the 3rd quarter with the bs helmet to helmet/roughing the passer call on one of Ohio State's defensive ends. That allowed what would have been a punt to turn into a short field for a touchdown for Texas. Ohio State won that game. Without the 7 free points for Texas, the real score was 21-17, Ohio State. This coming from a neutral Georgia Tech fan.

@mike23151 no texas doesnt prepare for games in the snow and the cold its a new game when u have to limit your self to running the ball on the ground. they would not own ohio state in the big ten. they barely came out with a win both times they were victorious. and the other time we won 24-7 in austin. i was at the game it was domination. texas won in the last 26 seconds in the fiesta bowl.
AND they were ranked 3rd where as we were 10th AND we dominated the game in 05 til the very end.

@Mixb1mp213 you'd think Ohio State fans wouldn't be as cocky as they are when they always blow it in every big game they've been in the past few years. They're are always overrated and I never bash a team unless I have a reason to, and they have some of the cockiest, most classless fans I've ever seen.

If Ohio State is always overrated, then Texas is just as guilty. Please, don't even give me that. You can't change the facts, OSU is 5-3 in BCS bowls. That's not 'blowing' it in every big game.
If your reason for bashing a team because you generalized a fan base, then I don't know what to say. Even I know that most fans that support SEC schools aren't just a bunch of trolls.

@Mixb1mp213 Texas is just as guilty? How is Texas anywhere near as overrated as Ohio State has EVER been? When we are going to be an average team, we're rated as an average team. Ohio State could be rated #1 and lose to someone completely irrelevant and never be talked about again and deservingly so. when did I say that SEC fans are trolls? I know for a fact Bama fans are because I live in Alabama. and 5-3 is blowing it when the only 3 losses are for BCS titles, kid.

@TexasMade20 Okay, 'kid'. Take a look at Texas's preseason ranking and look at them now. You seriously think Texas doesn't get the benefit of the doubt just like Ohio State?
I brought up SEC fans, not you. I used them as an example. I live in Ohio and even I can't say Michigan fans are all 'cocky and classless'. It's stupid to generalize a whole group with one stigma.
OSU beat Miami in the championship game in 2003. Two of those losses, OSU was the clear underdog.

@Mixb1mp213 do you not remember them being in the championship game last year? did you really expect them to be put #10-#15 immidiately like that? Ohio State did beat Oregon last year, respect to them for that. But from what I've seen, they've based their ranking from Terrelle Pryor and how he would play through the season. if they based on who had the better TEAM, Iowa and Wisconsin ahead of OSU before the season started because they're more complete. sounds crazy, but it's kind of obvious.

Same argument against OSU can be used against Texas easily.
There is no way in telling if OSU, Iowa, or Wisconsin was better in the preseason. All had a lot of returning starters. AP poll doesn't even matter anyways.

@Mixb1mp213 Yeah they kinda do 2007 BCS Title Game i watched everything in the game that mattered what i saw was OSU get mauled by Florida 2008 BCS Title Game i saw LSU run circles around OSU's secondary 2009 Fiesta Bowl had the lead and once again were blown away credit for the win in the 2010 Rose Bowl but they almost blew that too

@Jake1985Nazar - Doesn't change the fact that Ohio State WON the 2003 championship game and we were the underdogs against Miami. Yes, Florida destroyed us. LSU beat us, but OSU wasn't that good that year anyways. Everyone ahead of us just got beat. And a last minute Texas drive to win the game isn't getting 'blown away'.
Ohio State beat Oregon by 9 pts and took a knee by the endzone to run out of the clock rather than scoring another touch down. OSU dominated that game besides in special teams.
